I don't know how you figure Buchanan as a Republican robot. The guy is a staunch conservative. He's 5000 light years away from being a NeoCon. He more resembles the Paleo-Conservatives of the Old Right.

Why are people so jealous of Obama's popularity? Isn't it called the "popular vote" when citizens choose a president?

McCain tried to be popular, he tried to get himself a cheerleader too, but he forgot to see what kind of dirt was in her past that would lead to future dirt.

Mc Cain was the "first loser" deal with it.

The Brutal truth is: Obama kicked John McCain and the republicans asses and they are shellshocked. They are all about copying his campaign in the future, only I doubt there are that many repukes on the internet, well except for the few on here. I've noticed that a few have left, they must have been disheartened by the overpowering attack by Obama. Funny how the republicans on site distance themselves from the republican party and call themselves conservatives. I guess no-one wants to be on a losing team,~LOL~.

I'm not a Republican. I left the party in 1996. Nor did I vote for Senator McCain, but that does not mean I automatically surrender my conservative principles.

Anyone who confuses me with a Republican has not been paying attention.

Forget it. The Big O can expect the same consideration from the Right the present administration has received from the Left. Turnabout is fair play. The Left is all about 'fairness,' after all.

The big ass of responsibility that comes with the office will be sitting on the Chosen One. I for one will be paying attention.

A key member of the transition team goes on national television and declares Obama will rule and I am to dismiss it? Have you considered that that is precisely what they are telling each other when the cameras are not rolling?

No I haven't considered that and yes I've already dismissed it. You seem like a sharp guy, try and keep your eye on the ball. I know it's easier than thinking about real problems but we need to quit wasting time on the inanity d'jour.

The ones who have left the forum, have left not because Obama won. the election has had nothing to do with it at all. They are leaving this forum because there is very little political discussion of any substance here anymore. Take a look at the posts ... they are almost all personal attacks. Some are insulting, demeaning, mean and down right cruel. There are so many here, mostly coming from the left, that ... I don't know ... maybe they've never discussed politics in a rational manner before. It's one thing to disagree and attack the other person's IDEAS, and another thing all together to attack the PERSON. This place should be fun and intellectually uplifting and stimulating. Instead, its become a forum consisting of a few who like to discuss different political views, and then many more who just sling shit at people who have a different perspective from them, for what purpose, I don't know. Perhaps its just a way for them to release tension or something. But, what they should know, is that what they are doing is boring, senseless, not funny, and in many cases, downright hurtful to others. Who wants to put up with a bunch of bullies? Who needs that shit?

I was a moderator in a political forum at another cannabis site for years that is no longer functioning. The only thing I insisted upon was that there wouldn't be any personal attacks at all. Attack the ideas but not the person. There was absolutely no censorship ... just no personal attacks. Hell ya, it got heated at times. But as moderator, I had the ability to edit the attacks and name calling out. In my honest opinion, this forum is lacking in quality moderating. In fact, it sucks.

So there's your answer, Big Guy. Not dissing you here, Med. You and I disagree because we are 180 degrees out of sync politically, but we still get along OK.

i disagree as well. we should be FREE to speak (or write) whats on our minds. even if all we have is a double digit IQ and lots of anger...

i think that's a fundamental difference between people. some think we should be moderated and some don't....

What are you disagreeing with? I clearly stated in my post that there should be NO censorship except for personal attacks. Attack the ideas and not the person. Until that standard is reached, good people will continue to leave the site. Until that standard is reached, I stand by my conviction that the moderating in this forum sucks.
