The UK Growers Thread!

I transplanted her about 2 weeks ago and she has got really big over the last 2 weeks since she was transplanted and she has triped in size and I haven't bothered increasing the A&B feed in the past 2 weeks. And over the last week she has got really yellow and she looks like she has got a nutrient deficiency so I have raised the feed over the past few days from 1.2 EC to 1.3 EC and I'm not sure if she is getting better or not. I just hope that it is a nutrient deficiency and now that I've raised the feed she will start to slowly recover?

Yeah dude, the inflow EC is going in at 1.0 EC on the small plants which look healthy and it's coming out at 0.5 EC. The big plant that I'm having issues with is going in at 1.3 EC and coming out at 1.0 EC. I think she is a heavy feeder this 1 phenotype is
That points to being hungry ime bud, I'd increase the ec and see how that goes, I'd expect them to pick up in a few days.

I use the run off as a guide to feed strength, if run off comes out less than the input I raise it, if it comes out higher I lower it or increase the frequency of feeding.

Yeah man hopefully she is just hungry and over the next few days she gets better with the extra nutrients I am giving her.

I was also under the impression that you should feed more if the run off EC comes out lower but I've got two plants that look nice and green and healthy and the run off is coming out lower on those too so I'm kinda confused.

I guess I will just have to monitor her over the next few days and hope that she perks back up.

Does anyone know if I can use coco nutrient in perlite only?

I never thought much about it tbh, not until I seen a couple blemishes on the plant I potted into perlite at the weekend.

Last night when the light went off it was fine.

Its only developed through the night I'm hoping it's that heater being too close idk, what do you think?

I'm not too sure, I have never seen anyone grow in 100% perlite before. It looks like an interesting experiment. Hopefully she doesn't get any worse and it's just the heater being too close

Generally they have , I believe, more calcium and sometimes less K than non coco specific nutrients.

But I don't see why you wouldn't be able to.
I don't think in real terms the difference is much.

Think it be ok you may need to play about a bit find the right mix but it's both hydro so you would think it be ok to use

Looks like roots have dried out and died. I get that same look if dry pockets occur.

Happened to my laughing buddha in veg

Well it seems you were onto something! My whole hips are misaligned. My calves are compensating for my hamstrings putting pressure on my lower back.

She did some adjustments and I feel better already!

So glad it ain’t something major and I have a plan of action to sort it out!
Good stuff bud glad it's nothing permanent give it time hopefully ye be right as rain

Dante's inferno in the window for natural light ..... going into grove bags for a few weeks to cure out but it produces yet again even when a plant hermied in the room I haven't found any seeds in her yet and I've got more terps this time round I'd say blue Jam and sweets on the smell better than last time tho

That bud looks fire. You have done a really good job there. It's very similar to my last fish scale pheno I ran. It has bits of purple in it but my fish scale pheno had slightly more purple

how do you guys feed the plants at the back without spilling nutrient onto the leaves of plants.

I use a 600ml syringe to feed it's good but sometimes drips nutrient onto the leaves, I didn't think about this earlier but could those blemishes on the plant above be caused by drips of nutrient not getting wiped off?

Aye your tight on space at the back tbh I never tried using a big syringe for actually feeding them I use a wee one for measuring out nutes but that's it couldn't you maybe attach a wee straw or tube to the end and maybe extend its reach might help limit drips if you cut the tip at a slightly downward facing angle then again might not work just a thought bud

Long time ago, but I used a length of gutter , you can position it on the edge and just slowly pour from a jug.

I'm sure there's better ways though

600ml is a fair size syringe.. can't you put a tube on the end? Maybe with a splint to keep it where you want

Could you find a stainless steel tube, like a clothes/wardrobe rail or something... and funnel or syringe your feed down that?

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, it's only a temporary measure for me I was more curious how it was dealt with long term, I'll be putting those plants into autopot modules next week ±

I used this previously to get by then plugged them all into the pump and manifold.

@Conor good idea mate that'll let it empty.

A bend lets you reach left/right around the plants without too much hassle the biggest problem for me is trying to reach holding weight, my lower back/hip is in bad shape.

I always bring the plants at the back of the the tent to the front of the tent and feed them that way but it's a lot of messing around especially when you have to feed them until run off and take the run off away everyday. You could try using a watering lance to feed them and keep the lance close to the coco to prevent any nutrients from getting onto the leaves
