Good point, here is how that is being addressed. From the gofundme page:

• Republican Representative Representative Warren Davidson has bill on the table right now HR 7207 that if passed with Gov Funding bill we can give the funds towards the wall, and with our contractual guarantee to only be used on the wall.

• Rep Andy Harris Introduced the Border Wall Bonds Act of 2018, if passed with the Gov Funding bill it will allow us to donate towards the wall.
this Act funds only for the construction of the wall, nothing else.

• 100% of your donations will go to the Trump Wall.

• We are working with a law firm on a legal document that will bind the government to using the funds for the border wall itself, nothing else.

• We will hold all funds and not release a single penny until we have all legal aspects covered to ensure our money goes only to the wall.

only in trumpworld..i would pay close attention to #4 and say that may not hold water considering his current indiscretions.

actually, it's all pretty sketchy..calling all lottery players:lol:

in a way it's a good barometer to see who really wants it since no one will contribute unless they do.. and/or mad genius if it fails, trump can say no one really wanted it and he can save face.

$14M? so far not even 1/3 of those who voted him have given $1 each.

You do realize that Nancy Pelosi will hold the gavel next year. Government shutdown kind of fuck up the voting for it to happen before the Dems control the house.

I agree that the trend rate does not look good for this to be successful. Tough timeline for both the legislation and funding needed. Interesting experiment nonetheless.

I don’t know if there is a limit, I believe there are examples of people that have donated millions to specific govt programs. My frame of reference today is largely one of gratitude but not related to a wall!
