So I caught this news report about wax that I found annoying as well as amusing and thought I'd share it. Making wax is as dangerous as meth labs apparently, oh and marijuana makes you hallucinate.

"When people are using the wax, when they're smoking weed, it's all about THC and obtaining stronger hallucinations, and that's exactly what they're going to get when they're doing this," she said.

I don't know about you guys but I've never had hallucinations from weed.

They also claim wax is illegal in AZ, yet every dispensary in the state sells it or some form of concentrates.

THC is hallucinogenic, but not very. I've gotten dabbed out of my mind and it's nothing like real hallucinogens, unless you consider the massive eye buzz hallucinating. I used to actually use weed to lucid dream. I'd wake up, smoke a bunch and go back to sleep and would lucid dream, pretty awesome.

But yea, news stations love this bullshit about explosions, see something every few weeks in the news here, and the funny thing is they always show the same footage of the fire department "demoing" a butane explosion.

While the hallucinogen aspect is an overblown and insincere way of reporting on THC, the butane is another matter. Let's not pretend butane is inert; it IS a volatile substance with the potential for danger, and people have caused fires and burned themselves trying to make wax incorrectly.

As dangerous as a meth lab though? Only if you're trying to make wax by the pound, I suppose.

Its sad seeing things demonized because of the idiots that do it wrong or unsafely.

I agree that THC does not produce hallucinations where I think I see things, but it definitely produces very mild visual distortions. I gave a medible to a non smoking friend a few years ago, he really enjoyed it, and his first response was that "all the patterns in his house started to sort of move".

Even on some pretty decent doses of LSD I've never seen something appear that wasn't there. I've watched objects change shape and morph but never manifestation of nonexistent things.

You can chalk that up to the average person's ignorance of hallucinations. When most people hear "hallucinogen", then think "I'm going to take this and basically be stuck in my own personal holodeck, where the entire world will alter and shift and reality will be completely invisible to me until it wears off".

As stated earlier, it's just basically something that distorts one or more of your senses; obviously, if you drop enough acid or take enough shrooms you might distort everything so severely that you find yourself in an alternate reality, but that's an extreme case. Albert Hofman, the man who invented LSD spent a day out of touch with reality when he first sampled it, but he also took a dose that was around 10 times the human threshold, and he STILL percieved elements of reality (like his furniture, which he now found threatening but still could see).

I personally love the hallucinogenic aspect of weed where it slows time to a crawl; I fell in love with blue dream when it made me feel I'd been watching a show for nearly an hour, only to discover to my surprise A) I was watching the same episode, and B) it'd been three minutes.

I had these expectations the first time I used hallucinogens and was extremely disappointed when it didn't happen. I need to try more and stronger till i get it..lol.

2 month long drug investigation.... and they got ONE person? For WEED!?

I'd start a petition around that town to have the officers stripped of their badges for wasting so much time and money, while real crime and real drugs were ignored....

Someone within 50miles of that "drug house" was robbed or raped in the 2 months they were spying on shaggy and scooby pretending to be drug enforcement officers instead of high school bullies....

I got no issue with a decent cop, but assholes like this need to be put off the force... They just costed Peoria tens of thousands of dollars to arrest a single lone pot head....

They ran an update the other night and admitted they were wrong and wax is not illegal here. It was just a short little blip, blink and you'd miss it. They didn't bother to give an update or correct all the other false information they tried to pass off as news.

I've done the lucid dream thing MANY times. It's kind of insane. The perceptions that change when you're high are technically hallucinations, but they aren't very strong ones. Edibles in high doses can bring much stronger ones (no where comparable to strong hallucinations from typical hallucinogens, but stronger none the less) but it becomes really physically uncomfortable at that point and virtually no one I know is looking for that.

All in all, a humourous report.

hallucinate. Maybe mixing very high THC and very high cbd and you are sleep deprived. Bho is illegal to make in every state except Colorado. The dangers are not the THC levels but the chemicals your body absorbs and cannot break down. Long term its bad. There's no such thing as a 100% clean bho.

I love being a mmj patient in Arizona. Quasi legal. Can't ever drive cause of AZ's lovely zero tolerance DUID laws. Inactive metabolites do equal to a DUI. Can't grow your own in AZ cause of this 25 mile rule. Dispensaries here sell mass produced over priced junk.

And the media and police, here in AZ, really hate cannabis. I hope AZ legalizes in 2016. If nothing more than to get a bunch of waspy old politicians and police chiefs to get their panties wet.

The primary danger of tane is it's so explosive in the atmosphere and people that don't even understand basic chemistry are finding posts on forums like this and videos on youtube and blowing shit up or creating tane soup bc they were told it's cool to open blast outside in a glass tube then purge with a mason jar and bike pump.

They really don't know the "long term" effects of inhaling it yet, although there is an info graphic making it's way around Co facebook pages, which I can't find now, sort of a propaganda thing for new regs. It had the epa and osha guidelines for exposure and stuff.

Basically, most reasonable people look at it like, we really don't know but when you get into the ppm realm, the amount is so miniscule that you have probably been inhaling more residual butane from the bic you used to light your joint than is contained in an entire slap of properly purged bho. And you aren't burning plant material so in the grand scheme, probably better for you.

All that said, as a "purist", I've been striving to only use the top flight solventless wax(Essential Extracts for life!) however the cost/high ratio is not the greatest on that when bho is the same price pretty much. That's why I'm gettin a grow up and running again and gonna start running my own iwe! hehe.

in one can of butane even refined butane (Standards vary) there's benzene, propane propellants, hydrocarbon propellants, propane, cyclopropane dimethylmethane, freon, propylhydride, trimethylene, methylpropane, petroleum. People don't seem to realize butane is made from petroleum.

in the last few years. There's nutrient brands that have been banned from California and a few other states for being petroleum based. The long term effect coincide with the same studies from smoking flowers, eating fruits and veggies sprayed with pesticeides and grown with chemical and synthetic nutrients. There's actually hundreds of university studies on the effects of solvent extracts and chemically grown flowers digested and inhaled. Just do a search with .edu at the end. Just like they say there's no study on the benefits and of pot. Yet there's hundreds of studies

as long as there are a demand of stupid people wanting shitty hand blasted oil there will be people blowing up their houses trying to make it or collapse their lungs trying to smoke it. i only smoke lab tested bho never over 50 ppm. although id take some bomb ice wax over bho anyday, you cant beat the flavor.
