On one of the Weed Nerd episodes you and Dave mention a strain called Wreckless Kelly. There is a band coming to El Paso, TX on Feb, 22 named Reckless Kelly. Do they have any relation? I thought I remember Dave mention the band on that episode. I would appreciate it if you could share some info. Thanks!

i just got a shout out in the store while wearing my shirt, i heard someone yell "WEEEEEDDDD NEEERRRRDDDD" and turned around, it was a friend i havent seen in years and apparently she didnt even know it was me, she asked me about where i got the shirt and asked if i had been watching the nerd, it was a little akward for a minute, until i said yeah... i'm ccoastal... hahaha i thought she was gonna sh*t her pants. after a drive to the beach for a couple bowls and some discussion into growing, breeding, organics and butane, our friendship had been rekindled.
just some laughs i figured the nerds would enjoy!

I have a question.
I am confused about starting with seeds. If I take a cutting of a cutting of a ..... then it makes my shit weaker over time. Correct? If so, what is the goal? How do I get a 2nd generation, 3rd etc.? Am I better to occasional pollinate a good female, to get a better plant? I am not even sure if I am asking my question right, but maybe someone can explain a little.

If you watch one of the earlier episodes that was covered. I don't remember the exact one. But I don't think he feels it degrades the lineage as long as your taking your cutting from a fresh and healthy plant. No barked up or weak deprived looking shit. Nice healthy green ones should carry on the mothers traits. Partially answered maybe?

I haven't missed an episode, but I am kinda bummed cuz I shoulda took good notes for each episode. I try to look back and I just end of getting fucked up watching reruns. I guess if someone says this is 7th generation blah blah, what EXACTLY does that mean. Does it truly get better with each generation? When people say shit like that I ask them and then learn they don't really know what the fuck they are talking about. lol

i understand you my friend! what your referring to is often called 'genetic drift'
'genetic drift' is NOT REAL. it can usually be traced back to taking clones off a plant that is not at peak health, you always want to clone a vigoroug and healthy plant, and only a vigorous and healthy plant, no woody stems, no deficiencies, and no illness like PM or something similar.
space dude is 30-something generations of clones deep without any 'drift'
a lot of people i know will either keep a mother plant, or cycle back out to seed after a few generations to be on the safe side of the 'drift'. although u can keep a clone from a clone from a clone going for decades without any 'drift'.... as long as you are always taking the clones from a healthy plant, and never a sick one! a sick clone makes a sick adult, which can make an even sicker clone, and will rapidly degrade the output if you are taking slightly unhealthy clones each time.

7th gen- meaning a clone has been taken from a clone 6 times and 1 from a mother.
1)mother-clone(1st gen)
2)clone-clone(2nd gen)
3)clone-clone(3rd gen) etc etc
unless you hear 'this is the f7' that means that it is a cross that has been bred through the f1, f2, f3, f4, and f5 generations

One more thing, then I'll try to shut up about the jars. I do not know how many packs of seeds you usually sell when you first offer a seed publicly, but I imagine that number is growing with your entire brand as a whole. Maybe you could think about having one of the seed companies offer a pre-release limited edition jar and pack of seeds. That is the shit that makes kids camp out in front of department stores for 3-4 days and shit waiting for a video game to drop.

what does change is the fact that during the life of the plant it has endured stresses which will affect the overall yeild.
i personally have never seen a clone out-do the mother, without having a better control of nutrients and enviroment, in which case the mother would have done just as well.
so yes, i suppose you could look at it that way, although in an ideal world the clone is an exact copy of the mother- from growth pattern to yeild to taste. exact copy.

I think I remember a MzJill who was very active on Overgrow a long time time ago. Me too, I was very active online back in the day as well and must admit I just don't have the tolerance for it I used to either. I mean, it takes a tremendous amount of time to take pics, edit pics, post pics and then write a story and then immatures just come out of the wood work and troll. It's disheartening, I can certainly understand that. In many ways it feels like a tremendous waste of time and effort.

I wish there was some way of people letting you know how much that shit is appreciated. As far as MzJill, I couldn't think of a way an attractive woman could be online without constant harassment. That has to be comparable to a woman guard at a men's prison. (verbally anyway). each day she has to slick her hair back into a pony-tail, ignore the makeup and strap on a shank-proof vest before going to work.
all that in a place where they can lock you down for days on end for acting out, i can only imagain trying to keep every person on the internet in line.

Subcool you should do one strain at a time on the jars as a collectors item. That way you don't have to deal with a crazy amount of stock, and they will sell fast because people will know they are limited and if they don't get them now they'll have to wait til the one they want comes out. Kind of like the way restaurants used to do series of different glasses. Gotta collect'em all.I'm on board right now for several a-13 jars
