More than a hundred 'white supremacists' march on DC to 'reclaim America' before getting stranded on the highway and illegally piling into the back of a single U-Haul truck doing multiple trips - while police stood by and did nothing
A group of white supremacists were caught on camera loading themselves into the back of an U-Haul moving truck Saturday night, after they marched on Washington
DC in an an effort to 'reclaim America'.
The more than 100 Patriot Front members - uniformed in white gaiters, sunglasses, blue jackets, khaki pants, brown boots and hats - carried American flags and plastic shields while marching down the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to a beating drum.
'Our demonstrations are an exhibition of our unified capability to organize, to show our strength—not as brawlers or public nuisances, but as men capable of illustrating a message and seeking an America that more closely resembles the interests of its true people,' Patriot Front leader Thomas Rousseau said, according to the
Daily Beast.
The driver made multiple trips over the course of three hours to ensure the dozens stranded behind made it to their final destinations.
The group's presence in DC reportedly created fear among bystanders, gaining attention from police who shadowed to group in preparation for conflict. Officers remained on standby, some sporting riot gear, until the group left the area, which took several hours due to transportation issues.
Dozens of Patriot Front demonstrators waited in the darkness as an U-Haul was driven back and forth, allowing passengers to pile in before taking them away. Police apparently did not intervene with this transportation practice, despite its illegality.
The U-Haul driver had to make several trips as the large group did not all fit in the truck's cargo hold. Despite this being illegal, no protestors were arrested by officers who were on standby all day.
