The "Wife is Gone! Let's Grow Some Bud!" Journal

Hello all you RIU Denizens outthere!

I've been a silent reader here since2008 and have loved learning and reading others journals since then. I simplyhaven't had the opportunity to join in all the growing fun here until now!



Let's review why MrCartoon can onlynow build himself a grow room and grow some bud...

1) Divorced"Holier-than-thou" Wife. (takes longer than you think)

2) Paperwork is done and ALL herstuff is finally cleaned out.

3) All locks changed and newsecurity system put in!

So, with all that lengthy processsummarized in three quick sentences, let’s begin the journal!





I am taking the long walk in closetinside my master bedroom and converting it from the ex-Misses glorified Shoeand Heel rack, into something actually useful!

I thoroughly enjoy the building andexperimenting process, so I bought enough stuff to pretty much do everythingfrom Ebb and Flow, DWC to soil... but I'm going to start small and learn frommy mistakes on a small grow before scaling up to MOAR! (secret Al B Fuct fanhere) J

Let’s begin with what I purchasedfrom Attitude Seed Bank:

5 Dutch PassionBlueberry Feminized

1 UFO#1 Dinafem SeedsMoby Dick

1 UFO#2 Dinafem SeedsWhite Siberian

1 Afghan Kush RyderAutoflowering Feminized

1 Legend CollectionNew York 47

1 Medical CollectionNorthern Lights x Big Bud Feminized



When I received myseeds this morning, I threw 2 of the Blueberries into germination until Idecide what else I want to try.



With the seeds busygerminating, I set off to build my room! I decided to start my seeds with anEbb and Flow system in Rockwool. This area will give me a place to build my 2germinating seeds into mothers for cloning. As of now, I have the reservoir allset up, the flood table has the silicone sealant curing for another 2 hours,and then we will be off and running!



I plan to postpictures of the grow anytime I build new pieces to my room (next up is a DIYAero Cloner).



I would lovepeople’s input and advice as I go along, I’m sure I’ll have plenty of learningmoments!

This has got to be the funniest journal I've had the pleasure of reading. I can almost taste your sense of liberation...it comes across quite nicely in your post. You're a free man, brother...Master of his own destiny.

I also am envious of the space you have to work with. That walk-in closet is AMAZING...and perfect for a grow.

Thats a fair exchange, get rid of one lady and then add many more. Might wanna put some kinda protection on that nice clean carpet too cuz the new ladies moving in don't clean, but boy are they great.

Enjoy the freedom. Experimenting is always fun. I'm actually looking for my own grow facility cause the wife don't like. My just have to buy another house for myself and my "other ladies".

i will most definitely be following you with your experiments :)
my girlfriend and i are working on some experiments of our own, but sadly i have not studied RIU as long as yourself :'(
im actually in the process of creating my own grow journal, but sadly not a journal from seed, but happily in a 10x8x7 room O_O
ill be linking it to my siggy ^_^

i'm growing a dutch passion blueberry feminized right now. I just put it into flower today! however it is only in a pc case, lol. It seems like a good plant.

What a nutty weekend and week it's been! Thanks to everyone who replied to my journal! I had good intentions of posting every 2 days or so, but you know how life gets sometimes! I now have much respect for those who post updates more than every week on their journals! I'm off to take some pics of my girls and will be back shortly to update and reply to everyone!

Thanks for the rep jzs147! As far as the venting goes, I figure I have a little time to run a duct through the ceiling and through the attic... I just threw everything up at the moment to get my seedlings up and vegging into mother plants. I'm planning on a Lowe's run this weekend to sort the ventilation situation out!
