Wow surprised they are still in original containers figured they would have outgrown those by now - I doubt that soil will do well outdoors it doesn't retain enough water for this kind of heat

I was debating a scrog or flat wall type grow but I'm thinking I'm gonna go with what's produced the best results i've seen on RIU and that's a multi level rack that lets you angle the plants toward the light stadium style, so you can put smaller plants bottom to larger up top for a perpetual harvest. Two racks, if there are 3 levels then that's 12 per rack minimum - i will probably either pick up another 400w or switch to a 600w and add some more LED power down the road as well... basically 2 vertical racks/walls of weed with the HPS in the middle and 2 blackstars shining on either side of the HPS at each wall/rack.... may get some more LEDs for christmas and add 2 more per wall if I feel it's needed. So yeah should be able to flower like 24 plants or so at a time I'll be able to have a selection of keeper strains and grow out one or two new packs each grow -- won't have to do as much training, though later if I want to bump up yields I can add a scrog screen. With the airpots there is almost no need for that as you can tie train easily. That'll be my flower chamber I'll have a separate veg/clone/seedling area. Once my daughter leaves I can convert her room, which has both a nice sized closet for the veg area and a bathroom accessible from the room. I'm gonna put plastic sheeting up around the actual grow area and surround it with a wall of boxes for camo so it will at least pass a cursory visual inspection. There'll be a lock on the door though -- maybe magnetic -- can't locksmith those. Proper.

This is what I'm working on emulating... mine won't look near as slick though because like I said, I don't have much in the way of carpentry skills... I might even think of a good excuse to pay someone to do this i'll call'em display shelves, yeah

you should check out one of the vert threads, they have lots of info on doing grows like that. i was gonna go vertical but decided not to.

Yeah, metoo. I have good results with things the way they are.
And with my setup more refined, I think it's in my best interest to not try a different method like vertical.

But one day maybe.. Never say never, eh?

I think I had a bulb go out on me last night. But I need to inspect my wiring, as it is old, and check for a short.
The light went out but the ballast kept humming away. Hopefully I can figure it out. Still have the other lighting setup(250 w hps)
And cfl's. But I accidentally stepped on my giant cfl.

The only thing I haven't figured out is how to make a rack like that work with soil... first of all weight and second of all ease of watering, particularly airpots at an angle I don't really wanna switch to hydro... I can always go with 2 walls and screens but i'd love a way to work out a rack like that.

regular bakers racks or any type of rack will work. u can find that stuff cheap on craigslist.

I'm thinking I'll have to scrog under my led the next go around but we'll see.

Yeah won't really work for what I want to do as I want the shelves to angle the plants towards the light so I can stack them. Most baker's racks are horizontal shelves so stacking wouldn't work... but i might be able to find something that suits my needs if i look long enough.

It should be ok I'm hoping to be back up and going in August so shouldn't be an issue in that case...

kids make it hard... one of the reasons i'm looking to move to a medical state is so that i don't have to keep it as some deep dark secret so my kid doesn't bust me out and get me sent to jail, or just hide that kind of major thing so that later the kid realizes you're leading some complete alter life...

The setup that you showed is a 2x4 frame, with plywood racks. Holes cut to support the 5 gallon buckets.

You buy the wood, I'll help ya build it. And, that setup would be perfect for your airpots, I think they'd slide into the 5 gal buckets(easier to water, feed. And no drips!).

No need to worry about lil ole me, as far as security goes.. I can keep a secret. .

I'll know next week after I get moved.... if you want to help with that you can help me figure out how to hang the lights vertically as well... i'm thinking probably a clothes rack like in a department store with the LEDs mounted on the side vertical bars and the hps hanging from the horizontal bar in the center - the hard part will be how to get the LEDs mounted vertically on the side bars back to back
