im completely new to growing, and wondering if all of these magnificent purple and white plants have to be grown hydroponically or can i get them to grow in soil?? and what would be a good strain to start off with and get the basics down? gonna finish off some regular seeds i got out of a bag of swag first, but definately planning on moving up with time and experience . . .

you could defiently grow any strain in soil and get amazing results, and as far as a good strain to start off with, their are so many, but northern lights is pretty resealent and tough, in my opinion but if you sucessful grow some bagseed first, then you could pretty much go with most strains out their, just do a little research first.

That's the fun part about growing. There's a million ways to grow. Tell us a little bit about your GOALS, and we can recommend some grow methods for you if you like! Indoor? Outdoor? Room size? Budget? Production or Personal?

a very inexpensive non soil medium called " Coco " medium is considered hydroponics and is very a) effective and easy to use. Cant overwater/underwater your plants. b) very cheap, and is considered hydroponics because the coco doesnt have any nutrients. Only what you feed it, which is kind of how hydroponics is too.

Researchk is right , theres a million ways. The right way for any person to grow is the method that works best for them, there is no one right way or one better way.

Good luck. any questions, feel free to ask.

btw im using coco right now if you want to see what it is and the results, you can check out my grow journal below. and theres a dedicated thread for it in the hydroponic section.

thx for the feedback everybody. n right now i jus have three goin under two 75w flouros. they still pretty small. going to get a 400w hps n a 400w mh kit round the middle of next month. planning on building two 3 ft square boxes, mount the lights in them, one for veg n one for bud, and put like 4 inch computer fans in them. was wondering if 3 ft would be tall enough tho, or should it b taller? o, n im only planning on keepn about four at a time going constant, should i go wit a smaller bulb?

Might be tall enough for your veg box. You should leave about a foot each for the light and the pot, which would let you veg about foot tall plants. Just remember plants double to triple in height during flower, so build the flower box taller. If space is an issue look into scrog or LST.
