I went into a rec store recently (Black Friday to be exact) because they were discounting some of the top stuff 40% off the regular price. I picked up a bunch of rosin and ice wax...But, when I was in there, I saw they were selling some one ounce BAGGIES of weed....weed that looked eerily similar to the shit I used to get on the street back in the 90's. $27.00 for a half ounce! WHAAAT???
I asked the owner of the store how it's possible for any growers to make money at that price. He just said it was grown outdoor and the overhead was low....and also that it's a fact the state has waaaaaaay overproduced and now there is too much weed to sell at any price! Can you believe that's a problem now?
Okay, and the other thing is that most of the weed isn't all that great! So, what we face, at the moment, in WA state, is that we CAN'T grow our own to get the quality we want, but the state can grow SO much production-quality weed that it can't do anything with it. oooooooookaaaaaay
This is what we get for getting into the game so early. We didn't work out our policies very well. And now, instead of a bunch of small business growers bringing the quality back, we are stuck with mega-grow ops producing tons of zzzzZZZZZZzzzzzzz weed.
Hopefully, these laws will be amended soon and WA state will be en par with other legal states.
