Ive heard good things about CMH over HPS. I was looking at 1000w dimmable hps but this caught my eye. the temps and energy efficiency are nice from what ive read. and yes i know ill need the special sunglasses to work in the garden.

which brand bulb would be best for auto flowers?

You just need UV blocking glasses. Over the glasses types also available.

The 3000k is for flowering and the 4200k for veg.
However both spectrums are great all round unlike mh/hps. I used to veg with my 3000k bulb in summer when I couldn't run a 600w MH. It grows real stout plants with tight internodes in veg.
So I would probably go with the 3000k if I had to choose one bulb for both stages

I’d buy one, my theory being that they come with the best bulb and that pretty much any generic ballast has about the same chance of being a bad one. And I had some digital greenhouse brand ballast(hps) a long time ago and a buddy still running them.
