These mini hygrometers work for you?

$12 pack of minis (top of picture) abunch of people suggested I pick up. Just got them out the box, they look waaay off. Temp is close, not the humidity (which is what we need it for) Does it take them 24hrs to work or something?

Those suck big time. Every new moisture meter I throw in a mason jar with herb and a humidity pack for calibration. All brands I’ve used from indbird, accurite, to thermpro are off. I use them for curing in jars tho not for environment.

Yea I threw one in a jar for curing. Thats what I got em for. Will it work in a jar better?

Ive used them with bovedas in jars
Asuming the bocedas are doing their job they are usually +- 3 degrees off

Within that range, so some are accurate some are off a bit but within 3 point off in my experience..
You can toss a boveda in a jar and guage how off it is and note that for each one..

Those hygrometers are notoriously innacurate, but for the price they do the job.
Just take the average and write the deviation of each on the back.
They usually seem to track up and down conistently

They're slow to give a somewhat accurate readings. Most are within 1-3 points. But some are more off. When I get a new set, I lay them all out and check that they're all giving close to the same readings. Any that are off by much get marked or tossed.

You could also use tape to write on and attach to each that says how much to add or subtract to get a more accurate reading but I only did that the fist time.
 
The cheap humidistat’s are not accurate. Ok for guessing but I’m sure if your buying these, it’s to get it bang on.

I use these. They can be recalibrated which is why they work well.

I have two very accurate Inkbird mini hygrometers-they always match each other and my main hygrometer (and my dehumidifier). Always smart to buy multiple and compare them to a hygrometer you know to be accurate.

This is my experience. When I get a new batch of them, I lay 'em all out and give them a day to adjust near a known good hygrometer...then you usually find a handful that share the same reading and a few outliers. Mark the outliers so you know how off they are and the ones that are good use as is. I find they adjust slowly, so you do have to give them some time to adjust to any new setting.

This small flat panel oil filled is the one I ended up with. 400W so it's not sucking too much power, but definitely enough for a small to maybe 5x5' tent. I have it hooked up to an inkbird controller. Its small and thin enough that it can sit in the tent and not take up much room either.

Salt test and record the deviation. They are great for the $$ spent
Think I actually recommended them to you.
I own 40 or so of them and have 15 that match spot on.
Extra batteries, order some now as they last (for me) slight less than a year.
Cheap too.
