ok so found these they are a bit more costly than i want though http://www.1000bulbs.com/category/130-watt-equal-compact-fluorescents-6500K/

if i add the extra 2 on to to give me 20 total lights i will have 600w and 1675 lumen per sq ft.

anyone know of where i can get some bulbs for around 2-3 bucks each ><

wal mart has 2700k bulbs @ 13 watt ea for 57¢ a 6 pack >< wich they were usable but i should be able to get my 2700k bulbs at a reasonable price they seem to be much cheaper.

alright i put some more light in the box, now we are looking at 40 CFL's lets see if it keeps the costs down at all

coming up with 760 watt and almost 2k lumen per sq foot for roughly same price but my cost for the fixtuers is going to doubble........

if i remove the 2 fixtures from the sides i can cut down to 32 bulbs wich ill need 32 of each so 64 total bulbs (one set for flower one set for vegg) im looking at around $190.00 just for light bulbs

i really think there has gots to be a way to get my lumens/watts to where i want them and also cut that price in 1/2. i dont necessarily have to use 32 bulbs just trying to brainstorm as to how i can get my watt/lumens to where i want them for the best price, any suggestions are much appreciated here guys

thanks
Matt

i need to know how many actual watts per bulb , also need to know if you have a "dedicated" circuit for all your stuff or are you just gonna plug into closest outlet ? if so , exactly what is wired in with that outlet ?

i dont see a diagram , only the one in the first post , did i miss somethin ?

what exactly is your question about fans ?

ok 190.00 on cfl's is a bit rediculas. .... now your gettin into HID lighting. if your gonna be usin 700 watts or so then why not just get a 600 w HPS ?

here are the fans you want to look at :http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/inline-fans-valueline-c-76_629.html
always start big because soon as you see a flower your gonna wanna go spend your whole purse on a newer bigger setup anyway.

the only thing those cfls are good for is heat, they dont produce much heat at all , but the amount of bulbs you have to have for a decent setup still puts your watts high , when you can get just as much coverage with half the watts when using HID.

if your gonna follow through with the cfls then you dont need or want 40 of each. you can use 20 an 20 all the way through the life cycle , but if you wanna get a lil closer to perfect then maybe 30 blue ones (5000-6500k) an 10 red ones for veg , an then 20 an 20 for flower. i would not use only 2700k in flower, people do it all the time with hps but since you already have both then use both. flower can always use more blues then just 2700k.

that will save you some money.

i still need the answers to the questions above to help you wire it all.

(dont need an intake fan at all , just use a good exaust fan an that will pull your air from anywhere you decide to make a whole.)

i wasnt going to use a intake fan i scratched that idea and just opted for 1 inch holes in the bottom of the box.

it is going to be in the basement and probally wired to closest outlets, im not posotive but im going to assume that most of the basement outlets are wired to the same 20 amp breaker.

when using CFL should i just focus on my lumens and not worry about how many watts i have, i was aiming for 600 watts because i was under the impression that you needed at least that to grow that many plants.

i dont mind using less bulbs at all and i will probally take your advice on 1/2 and 1/2 on the blue/red will cut my costs down enourmously.

i want to use CFL because of the heat issue i think that itself is worth it (for me at least)

the fictures for the CFL's i just wanted to pick up simple Y sockets and permanently fix them to my box as i will have a shelf in there that i will keep my vegging plants on to keep them as close as possible to my top row of lights.

thanks, Matt

home depot has 12 pacs of 23 watt 2700k bulbs for like $27 i would use them for the whole grow if you buy 2 sets of lights one for veg and one for flower you will be into it as much as a 400 watt hps using as much power and not getting the usable light as you would from a hid not trying to dicurage from cfl growing but it is more bang for your buck from a 250 or 400 watt hid

first wire every single fixture together. black to black an white to white an then wire a plug to the end an plug it in.

your good in assuming all the plugs are tied together downstairs, they do it that way a lot. i would find out for sure before you start though. (turn that 20 off an go around the whole house an see what dont work.)

i can get a 6 pak of 10 W 2700k bulbs at wal mart for 57¢ and i think the 26 watt ones are like 2.50 a 6 pack. they arent the ones i was worried about its the 6500k that are expensive.

i think i might go with only 10 bulbs but get higher wattage bulbs and do 12/ & 12/ 2700 and 6500k thgis will cut my costs down drasticly

thanks all for the replies :) now i need to see some dam firewood to get some cash lol.
