I'm basically looking to grow my first plant or plants, Me and my buddies got hit hard with this Recession and decide to all pitch in and grow our own plant. I'm just clueless on what kind of seed i should use. I'm probably looking for the most strongest and most producing kind. Please help me lol. :joint:

Lots of questions for you before you get an answer - Indoors? Outdoors? Soil? Hydro? You get the idea, if its your first go round I would suggest germ a bunch of bagseed, kill the boys & harvest, and come on everybody has that little film container full of seeds or is that just me?
You will learn a ton, gain some decent smoke at the same time.

The first and most important question is do you prefer a sativa or an indica or a cross and if a cross do you prefer a sativa predominant cross or an indica predominant cross?

Once that had been established the rest will begin to fall in line.

Not to offend GreatwhiteNorth but I really do not agree with the advice of germing bagseed to begin with. Bagseed can be highly unreliable for both germing and vibrant growth and a new grower can believe they did something wrong or are doing something wrong because they had a poor germ rate or slow growing plants or a low yield and it can often times be traced back to having used bagseed.

Instead I would say in my opinion it would be better to not rush into things and to read and learn as much as you can and then purchase some lower dollar genetics from a quality breeder and then do what you have learned. You will have a better chance to have a high germ rate and vibrant growth and a good to better than just good yield.

One other reason to begin with good genetics over bagseed is the quality of your harvest. If you will be spending the time and money and putting out the effort and taking the risk why do all that for lesser genetics which means a lower grade result than what you would get using higher quality genetics?

Unless you happen to have seedy pot now that you can pick seeds from you would have to purchase a bag of seedy pot to pick seeds from and unless you only buy a very small quantity it will cost you as much or more than good genetics will cost you so what have you saved if you do not normally buy seedy pot and have to buy a bag of seedy pot for seeds?

The best advice that I can give to anyone new to growing might be for them to go slow, to have great patience from the day they decide to grow until the day they pull a bud out of cure to smoke.

Remember Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither was Syracuse.

My first grow I grew some bagseed Afghani Trainwreck, and it turned out pretty good. However, I'd have to side with Brick Top. Buying from a reputable seed co. will guarentee some good genetics. If you're willing to dish out some money, I'd recommend Northern Lights from Sensi Seeds. I've grown this a few times. She grows really strong, is an awesome smoke, and yields good. It's a great overall plant, especially for beginners; and once you get a strong mother plant, you can take plenty of clones off her.
My best advice is to do some research and ask questions to find out what suits your needs best. Good luck man!

The best way is to go online to drchronic or the attitude and check out the discriptions of the beans. Both of them carry a lot of breeders. Some for cheap but still good genetics. Ask people you know what they have tried and liked. If you find something you like post a question about it on the board. Decide if you want a couchlock strain like Barneys Farm PhattFruity or Violator Kush or a up strain like Greenhouse SuperSilverHaze or NL5HazeMist or a cross for more body stone to go with it like Arjans or Nevilles Haze. Take your time deciding because you can spend a lot of money trying stuff out. Good luck with your pick. Peace Out!

I recommend doing your first grow with bagseed if possible.

I found I stressed out about everything with my first grow. It is common to over anyalize every part of your plant. If you add the fact that every seed cost you money it just gets worse.

If you decide to purchase seeds make sure you look at your grow area. Indoors/Outdoors? What size room if indoors? How much room for verticle growth? Do you prefer Indica or a Sativa high?

If your growing indoors you might consider an autoflowering strain for your first grow. There are no light timers to switch and they tend to be a smaller plant.

Like Bubba said, check out your seed banks and look for something not expensive and that says its for beginner growers. Some strains are much more forgiving in regards to their enviroment.

Good luck and there is nothing like smoking weed you grew.
