Area 51 is only carrying the rw150. That's a 155w for flower mode. I have 2 of those lights. It retails at $585. That's a fucking rip off if you ask me.

Dude please look more into the inda gro induction lighting with pontoon. My boy rocks 2 of em and gets great results.

I love the results I get from HPS. Just want to try some of the new technology. And after much research I think LEDs still have a ways to go to catch up with HID.I am still looking at Induction lighting. But the Plasma lights have really caught my attention. Going tomorrow to check out a couple of Plasma grows.

Just my two cents, I used HPS, LED, and CFL for entire grows. I like the yield that HPS gives me and I like the frostiness and taste of the led so Im trying this run to do HPS with LED in a hybrid grow. See how it goes. If I dont like it then Ill stick with LEDs. Expensive isnt always better when it comes to LEDs,

No but out performs a 600w hps. 3 Inda gros will replace 2 1000's and covers a larger area. I have 3 inda gro's over a 12 x 5. But only 2 pontoons. I need to get another set of pontoons.
I also have plans to add some Vero 29 cobs at 50w each to that area. Hang 2 cobs between each light and wall. Having 8 cobs total with the 3 inda gros.

The T- 5 idea with a UVB light is a good idea during late stage flowering. You run that in cycles due to lower bulb life. I use 3 100w reptile UVB bulbs to surround any plant that is in its final week to push resin production. Be aware that exposure to UVB ( human exposure ) should limited . I use these Safety Goggles @ $ 15. EBAY

Look at the grows on RIU and their PLANTS ( it will give you an idea on what others are using ) that may be what you are looking for. Brand loyalty is one thing , but ACTUAL RESULTS tell the story.
See what you requirements are for YOUR situation , not what others WANT you to use.
Will heat be a problem ?
I going to run multiple plants. Or are you tenting your grows.
How much power do I want to use , or am willing to cover during its use.
We all know that HID lights are the standard for most growers ( 409 / 600 / 1000 watt ) but sometimes it won't work for your setup. For me I can't work with heat they make because of a limited grow area so I use LED . Less heat , and easier for me to control exhaust.
There are many manufactures , go by actual use in the field. Not the bullshit advertising.
However , ( most importantly ) you get what you pay for. Sometimes it's a cost that some growers don't expect especially for high quality panels. Bottom line , LED panels do grow nice plants , they are a bit different from HID grows but they work.
COBS are the latest in light power but they are also a form of led . But they have properties that condenses multiple emitters on a micro sized level. They are also very narrow band specific which optimizes the spectrum plants love. These do rival conventual HID / LED systems. But if you are not a tinkerer ( builder ) then hunt for a panel that fits your budget.

You totally hit it on the head ... Doing a HYBRID GROW ( varied light systems ) by running plants under on system and or finishing under another. I find my LED panels actually push my VEG STAGE better during the beginning. I have finished plants in CFL ( my preference ) because it make me a denser bud for some reason. Flowering under the panels gives me fluffy buds and good yields. I like targeting the colas with UVB CFL also.

Might work well for veg. Those same style lights were like $350 a couple years ago so if you think of it that way you got a hell of a deal lol.DIY COB's are the most cost efficient right now if you're inside the US, outside the US it may be a good idea to buy something like GreenGenes putting out, a pre-assembled light. Optic also has some good options. The reason I say this is I DIY'ed a light and the exchange rate and duties I paid just to get the parts added a substantial amount to my build.
Finding UK distributers are probably easier then searching for Canadian though so maybe you could find the parts on your side of the pond for lesser. I had to order from the US to get the parts I wanted.
