looking at adding c02 to my current setup (non-sealed) and looking for any tips/tricks to help me a long this process. currently im exhausting out with an 8inch hyper fan (8x10 room) what is the best way to convert this for effective c02 addition. ive read that there is no need for a "controller" and instead use a timer to release c02 for 15/30 min at the beginning of every hr. if i do this..would it be ok to keep exhaust fan/filter in and just exhaust heat/smells out the last 30 of ea hr during lights on to bring heat back down? or would it be better just to seal the room and use my ac (portable 12k btu) or do both?
also read that higher temps/brighter lights is ideal for with c02. but also see that ppl using c02 are keeping temps in high 70s low 80s range. This is a bit confusing which is why i want my own thread to scrub info given in one location. please if there are any other tips or help...feel free to share.
ohh fun
what the other guy said and to add on
polywrap 6 mil thick ......u can get it in a home depot in the paint section in a 20x100 ft roll
u take a sheet and do the walls.....all in one sheet and seal it off with duct tape when u wrap it
the upper part u can cut off the lower part u are going to line the floor with a sheet and then seal that to the wall sheet (u have made a tub )......staple it to walls and use a bit of tape over the staples
the door in and out u can use a zipper thing they sell them to keep dust down in work zone ( slow leak but manageable)
your room is sealed up now .....take the ducting and all that down .......and install a MINI split ductless ac .......this is the rooms heater/ac/dehumidifier
it is a must buy to make this work
the next thing is a controller and a burner unit (what u were thinking about is a tank system ........those only work when u have a large tank like a 200 gallon propain tank filled with co2 )
the burner is the better choice as the gas cost and the amount of time u get off a tank is much better
https://www.hydroponics.net/learn/co2_calculator.php
play around with this u will see
ideal Co2 is 1500ppm when the lights are on .........about a hour before the lights are to go off u want the system to stop running so the plants use up the Co2 and make oxygen for the night run ......30 mins before the lights come on u want the PPM in the area to start to increase for lights on period (this is what the controller is for u set the times and the limits it turns on gets to points kicks off during day and kicks on to keep at lvl)
this is a sealed room ......u control the heat from the lights and burner with the MINI SPLIT .........u supply the co2 gas the plants need during lights on for building power but u have to keep it all contained or the gas leaks out
rem Co2 is a heavy gas ......think oil and water but the Co2 is the water and the oil is Oxygen ..........so the controller needs to be at bud lvl so it gets good reading and u keep the lvl right .......the mini split will make a power down draft mixing the air and CO2 (as it processes the hot air to cool) ....hence sealed is needed
