Just pay attention to what the plants are telling you, If they begin to stretch then lower the light.... Dont overthink it and dont kill them with to much maintenance . You'll be fine mate :)

OP , your static height with the quantum is fine ( not sure about foil ) but just make sure you don’t start adding much to the seedlings .
Light intensity is why you dim so they can harden up before turning up power.

If it were me, I'd remove the humidity domes; they aren't needed. I'd take Santa's sleigh out of there, and I'd cut the tall paper cups down so when your seed sprouts it's not fighting to get light. While you're at it, remove the tin foil from around your seedlings, it's not necessary and it has the potential to create hot spots. Good luck

Hey, thank you, thought maybe the foil would reflect the light from the soil to the bottom of the leaves, and maybe theyd like it, but idk.. honestly saw someine else doing it and their plants looked so happy lol.. , theyre getting about 17k lux.. without anything on top of em such as a plastic cup.. idk if thats top much light but ive heard of people putting my same qb 9 inches away with a clearish plastic cup over the seedling.. all this research has drove me crazy cause everybody seems to just do their own thing more or less, just like budget said ill watch the plants though

I actually have some HLG 260's. Rspecs, and 3000k V1's. They are some strong lights man. At first I treated them similar to my cmh lights, but soon learned that the QB's on full power are way stronger. So I ran them around 24" the first time. Then I tried them higher, around 36" and still got great results. This round I've turned them down to 90 watts per board, so each 260 is getting 180 watts, and am keeping them around 24" above the canopy.

But that's for mature plants. For seedlings I would start the light super high, like at least 36". Personally, I would raise it to more like 48"+ though at this stage. Then slowly lower it as they adjust.

Also, ditch those domes.

Sweet! Was hoping someone with the same light would chime in, this is the 260 rspec v2 I believe.. so you say 48" +, I'm gonna try 48" then without domes cause earlier I had em with domes and inside milk crates.. maybe thats why they atretched cause they were getting about 5k to 6k lux. Even at 48" the light is gonna be powerful so I'll go with what you said.. the seedlings must be like why the hell is this guy playing with that light so much.. and where the hell are we? Lol

Don't over think the process you're about to embark on...it's really not complicated and it doesn't take black magic to make it all work. You'll do best by researching firstly, for your self, then, if you can't find the answers you need, a place like this can be of help. Conversely, take what you read here, including my own comments, with a grain of salt. There are a thousand ways to skin that cat. Good luck.

Buy a LUX meter off amazon. You want 15000 for seedlings 25-35k for veg and 35-70k for flower.

Ya, I've been using them for a bit now, and they definitely take some getting use to at first, but they're kick ass lights when you dial it in.
