The downside is that those conical rollers have some sideslip. Excusable in a forklift but not a highway vehicle that needs to return tolerable MPG. And I wonder what it'd cost to re-"tire" that thing ...

... but it did get me to look up Bottler's Tilt. Sounds like a gynecological complaint ... cn

i think those rollers would get torn up pretty damn fast doing 120 km/h down the highway, but for a forklift thats pretty sweet

That's the key, if the repair or replacements were relatively cheap, this thing would take the fuck off! I don't see those wheels taking much damage without needing replacement, but the technology itself is viable, we need to develop tougher materials that can withstand such speeds (100mph), you're looking at the future! 360º rotation, no more parallel parking, holy shit this is awesome! Carbon nano tube tires, Kevlar, who knows, but this is the system that'll use it!
