This is my space, what do I need!

So this is my space, it's under the eves of my house, access vis a hatch in the bedroom, it's completely plaster boarded and insulated and has power inside (lighting):

6 foot high on the left doing down to 2 foot high, and 5'6" square. Does anyone fancy telling me what I need for this space? I want it to be as automated as possible, I also have a mate who is an electrician and has done a few very large set-ups, but nothing like this. We have good hydroponics shops near us too. I would also like to use LED lights if possible to keep the temps down.

If you get "overpriced" LED lighting then you'll have more vertical space as plants could be closer to the lights but remember there's still heat involved even with LEDs, just not as much and not right under them, you'll also need fresh air pushed in somehow so think about that as well. It all depends on how many plants you wanna grow how ever the slanted roof obviously makes it difficult. Find out the strains you're growing, how long you want to veg for and how tall they could get. Basically the vertical amount of growth and just make sure you have enough space. If I had some odd shaped space like that, I'd stick with a bunch of short plants, veg for a week and then SCROG. That may be your beat bet for maximum result outta that spot.

im not sure how you would grow in 2 foot of roof space.... the tallest is 6 ft... thats where i would grow.. i would block the rest off... thats just going to be wasted light..

instead of using that space... put a tent in your bedroom...

He has a space that's bigger, more secure, and it's his fukkin space ! I vote no on tent... First off since you have a 'mate' that's an electrician, that's golden, make him happy... The power inside your space is most likely useless... not enough dedicated power... Need a couple of dedicated circuits... at least... I hate to say it, but you need twice the exhaust air that you will figure... And... find ambient temp in your space, so go get a Temp sender today that you can monitor the RH/Temp of your space 'BEFORE' you invest too heavy... I'd say, sooner or later, your space will get too hot, so prob, think of AC... Good Luck....

Looks like I might need a glossary, no idea yet what veg or SCROG is ..... I want to grow as many plants as will comfortably fit into the space. I was thinking of a medium height Sensi Star (someone suggested this to me on the forum). Looks like I need to do LOTS of reading!

Right, just found the glossary and now know what SCROG and veg means!

U need to do more readings that you just thought you would. Veg: How long you let them grow before you flower them. (Longer light hours, Vegitation stage, Green, growth, Look it up,....) Scrog: Awesome technic for short vertical spaces, awesome results when you follow the steps properly even for newbs. Look into it, look up SCROG or screen of green, easy equipments to buy, short veg time, quick rsults, good for your space. It maybe so good, next time you dedicate a real room for growing.

Dedicated circuits are no problem, it's right below the main fuse board downstairs. What and were to get a temp sender??? I've got an old portable AC unit, I presume that would do? Air can be exhausted through the plasterboard straight under the eves of the house, should be fine.

hmm, a space thats bigger that goes down to 2 foot? im not sure how to grow a plant with 2 foot of space... i clearly said 6ft is good.. but 2 foot isnt.. block the space your not going to use off or else its wasted light..

you can use portable ac.. but they are very in efficent... i have a 10k btu portable and a 10k btu window.. my window unit blows the portable away...
