I did blue tara it had the smell in flower but straight bubba kush after cure. Will run more maybe I'll find something with the blueberry flavour. I've never tasted it in weed, even from shit I paid $250 an ounce for that was supposed to be clone only blueberry. I've had grape flavour from one strain and that was GHS's Kings Kush (Ick!) I know, I know, but the flavour was there. also the only bud I've never recieved with a dried up male flower hanging from the bud lol It was straight sweet grape, I've had little hints of grape but that shit was full on grape drank.

I think people tend to write off the older breeders. Dj Short's strains are building blocks in many of today's favorite strains. I can't imagine all of them being shit. People say the same thing about Sensi. I found at least with MLI to be what many others have said about it. Sadly not exactly what I'm looking for but I still have most of a pack to go through and it's definitely not shit. I wouldn't say it's a favorite of mine based off one plant so far and I am looking forward to the next plant to come down next week. I'd buy Sensi again, and Blue moonshine is on my list from DJ short, that or Vanillum

I agree that they are building blocks, I won't deny that at all. Definitely the foundation for a lot of todays strains, just as todays strains will be the blocks the future will be built on. It doesn't change my opinion, that there is better out there. I feel the same way about skunks, a lot folks want to find that skunk... why? It had it's time, it's over there's better out there now. Skunk was the shit, the best of the best at the time. Then it got worked into other stuff to make even better strains. I'd rather have the better strains that came from working the skunk then just the straight boring skunk we've all had.

I respect the work DJ has done to get us where we are today, but I won't buy his strains when others have taken what he's got and made it way better. He could have done it himself, instead he's busy threatening to sue everyone over his aging gear because his sales have no doubt fallen huge with all these new reputable guys coming out of everywhere. He's already got enough people to sue he's going to bankrupt himself

There isn't a way in hell he'd win a lawsuit, I'm sure he's realized this by now though

One thing I will say, it's hard for any strains today to be building blocks as with poly hybrids, one isn't getting anything predictable or consistent. Good F1 from distinct plants will make good plants to grow but more and more we just have a hodgepodge of genetics and a crap shoot. Dj has at least worked strains to be used by growers from wilder strains. I can respect that. His attitude, I agree with, I don't.

Seedsman was very professional about the process. Since they didn't have any original DJ short blueberry they said I could either have a refund or another strain. Went with kirkwood OG and some freebies. Ruth was super nice and helpful!

Well said, very true about a lot of todays breeders. Lets hope they shift a bit to stabilizing strains as more and more spots become legal. Right now I think the culture is just so excited to be able to openly work with stuff and make some money that they are just throwing together what ever they can. Personally I love it. But I get what you're saying.

Almost everything is "limited" in a sense anymore.

I love my Blue Tara and without DJ's Blueberry it wouldn't be.

No he's threatened to be litigious. Currently he can't in the US. I would say with legalization on the horizon, people are working to go down that path not unlike big agriculture.

Actually, the Blueberry Muffin Pheno is nearly extinct because everyone used it for crosses, without preserving the mothers….and when crossed, it lost that PURE Blueberry Muffin flavor…..you may find something that tastes similar, but it has added tastes, making it different (and worse)……the flavor of the elite DJ Blueberry is what gets hurt when the strain is crossbred. Yes, the cross will retain some of the flavor, but it will also lose some of that flavor.

If it was easy enough to cross his Blueberry & the taste would remain, DJ would have been out of business a long time ago. And now that in the last couple years, everyone seems to love crossing his Blueberry, nobody would ever buy his seeds again. But in reality, everyone is always looking for DJ's Blueberry. People will buy DP or one of the other Blueberries when they can't afford DJ's….but every single time they report back saying it doesn't match up to DJ's Blueberry.

The only one that I've heard does match up was Joey Weed, who I believe stopped selling seeds, & he was using original stock from DJ.

Shit, I would buy one of the cheap $50 Blueberry crosses over DJ's $130-150 ANY day of the week if the flavor of the Blueberry was FULLY retained.

The fact of this whole matter can be summed up with this. DJ Short has a strain that grows true to its nature, when it is crossbred most of the crosses are only F1's and sold on the market. That means that it obviously has a lower probability of coming out super blueberry. If you buy the cheaper seeds because they have his blueberry in it and that is what you are looking for you might as well buy more seeds or just buy his.

You will find it either way, whether it takes 1000 seeds or 10.

I've still got half a pack of DJ's original blueberry and I've grown out a pack of his recent blueberry. They are very similar and the recent ones i grew still grew very true to the description. DP's blueberry, while DJ did work with them, they were left with F1's and have used them to get F2's which they sell.
