yeah i moved away to idaho and came right back to socal its a great place to live. the worst would be the south i have travelled to various southern states wow what an archaic racist religious backwards place that is for the most part. i sometimes wonder by the sound of the rhetoric if some riu members are not from the deep south themselvesmove here and you can.

I'd love to just start up and do this, but if I have no medical history to issue a license. Is there a way to legally grow a certain amount otherwise?

I like the idea of Oaksterdam, but med MJ is in its infancy. If it goes full blown, it will quickly be saddled under the dept. of ag and the farmers will more than likely take over.

I think the wellfare system can be good but in the great state of california it gets abused. So if they cut it so be it move to those surrounding staes go find a job even if its min wage all of us have had to do it at some time. I love my state it alows me to grow medical marijuana. im not going n e where and 4 sure aint worried about wellfare

Even the work requirement is flawed. It'd be better if it was required that people on it be required to come up with a plan to earn a degree that will pay sufficiently for them to leave welfare.

Although I agree that the goal of welfare recipients should be to leave it, the statistics just don't support that principle. As was said above, minimum wage jobs will not support families and pay for rent, food, medical, car insurance (In fact even a car), and all the other amenities like the utilities etc. To move from welfare to work usually leaves the family in a worse position than welfare. Not all welfare recipients have the impetus to get a job, even if there were one available which there is not. Many ex high paid workers that have used all their unemployment benefits are taking those minimum wage jobs. The job market is slim to none for welfare people. I don't imply that I have the answers, but I'm pretty sure the libertarians don't either. They may have the answers for themselves, but they leave out 95% of the population, as in, fuck them, I've got mine.

Actually it's more a matter of, let them work for their ownselves, and take responsibility for their own actions.
And you're statement falls on its face considering the fact that I effectively stated that Welfare should be transformed into a hand up (education requirement) from its current state as a hand out (work requirement.)
The United States during the 60s and 70s had so many engineers that we had to export engineers (a fact that probably contributed to the current malais) but we now need engineers (esp. software) so badly that we have to import some of them.
Besides, it's not just engineering jobs that have education requirements. There's massage therapy, and other "people" jobs that require degrees and certification to be able to work.
The oldest "people" job in the world, medicine, requires degrees and certification (in addition to countless piles of pointless paperwork to fulfill legal requirements.)
The country as a whole can not afford to be forced to help those that are too lazy to help themselves. Hand ups, not hand outs.
Though you're attitude reeks of the "I got mine, so fuck the rest of you" mentality that you accuse the right of having. You've lived your life, now let everyone else live their's you old fossil.

One of the ONLY accomplishments of Bill Clinton in 8 years was welfare reform. I tip my hat to him for that. Too bad Obama has already dismantled it. Back to hand outs....yah, that always works.

Simply pay yourself each month and watch the savings add up. If anything goes wrong, simply offer cash and watch the bill drop 60+%.
i worked at numerous jobs over the past 20 years. i'd say only 20% offered any type of benefits. benefits aren't mandatory. i worked at my last job for 5 years. i was offered NOTHING. dentist bills are insane.

still leaves me paying the bill. most places want cash up front or insurance to begin with. i don't get it.
