was wondering if i could get any suggestions on what kind of dehumidifier would be suffiecient if i'm going to dry one plant in a bath room (doesn't get used so humidity will be normal).

I figured i could hang it in the bathroom (330 cubic feet; 4x10.5x8 ) and use a standing oscillating fan for airflow and a low/mid level humidifier.

do you thing this humidifier from target would be ok??

One eva model can do 8 oz/day and another 20 oz/day. Which is best for drying?

Have any of use used silica packets in jars or silica boxes for curing?

as long as you keep your humidity levels below 65% but above 40% you should be good man.

just get yourself a hygrometer which will tell you your RH values.. then just go from there.

Try putting a fan in front of the hanging product.. and point the fan out the bathroom door.

This will keep air circulating and should help keep your RH values in check.

good luck.

peace.

idk about silica, my friend used to use dehumidifiers... but I am weary of this unless the room gets too humid. If its over 70 percent then id use one otherwise just let em dry a natural

@dante...dude you gave me an idea and if I could I would shake your hand. I think ima buy me some and try em.
Also the cal3 hygrometer is great. I use em myself. I even use some cheap analog ones because I got thirty jars and that's too many caliburs to buy.

Edit...btw where did you hear about silica packets? It's brilliant?

If you're only drying 1 plant I would not bother buying a dehumidifier, just keep an oscillating fan in the room.

I don't know if I would try the silica because it's going to draw moisture out of your buds and it will do so too quickly.

The point of curing is to allow the buds moisture to be evenly distributed and allow for proper fermentation in order to get those tastes and smells we all love so much. Silica will likely dry your buds too much and result in the dreaded hay smell.
