Thrip Poo or PM ?

Hi, I'm having trouble identifying what this is. It's close to looking like thrip poop but something seems off with it. I've battled Thrips before and I'm pretty good at spotting and identifying them. However I don't see any thrips anywhere under a exhaustive magnification search. I'm worried this might be the start of PM. From googling it seems that PM looks to be more fuzzy. I would appreciate some more experienced eyes on this please. The following pic's aren't the greatest. The photo's show it to look like it's white spots. In person I would say it's more translucent and shiny kind of like thrips but not exactly. I have a gnat problem. Is this possibly from gnats ?

Thrips poo/speckles. It's spotty black to white and glossy. Sometimes they are hard to spot, most are under the leaves.

Now that I've started to look at some more pics of "honeydew" I think you could be correct. They can look very similar to thrip poo but it does have that clear sappy honeydew aspect to it. Hard to really tell with the quality of my pics. I wonder if I could possibly be confusing my Gnats for aphids. From my limited research it looks like some aphids can fly and look quite similar to gnats. I've spent a couple hours looking for thrips and I can't find any. I've battled them before and I'm usually pretty good at finding them.. Look for the best looking healthiest leaf and sure as shit that's where you can normally find thrips.

I'm going to dive into learning some more about aphids and I'll report back if I find anything.
