Throwback strains???

So what i have is around 30-50 seeds from the early 70's to the late 80's. no idea what they are all i know is they have been in a film container for around 15 years. i know they are good still.

I think im sitting on a gold mine.

Being that nearly all the good strains from the generation prior to us are long gone due to erradication from the DEA and task forces alike. Most of those strains were brought in from other countries with heroin and cocaine.

so basically what im saying is that if i grow these i can garauntee that i have a strain nobody has, well nearly nobody.

Comments? ideas? Want some? haha

Now that im a Legal paitent of the medical marijuana program of montana i plan to see what happens with these things.

Well sure, you'll have strains that nobody else has, because it's likely that the originals have all been cross-bred by now, or are very difficult to find. But, the potency will likely not be up to the quality of the best strains available today, because selective breeding has improved them quite a bit over the older stuff. I'm not saying that it won't be great weed, I'm just saying that they won't be some 'lost strains' that are above and beyond anything available today. Would be sweet if you could identify the strains, then sell their seed to seedbanks looking for old original lineage.

i have seen a few grows like this, old seeds from 70's
can't remember how they went, must have lost track of them after a while
but a very interesting prospect

i never really thought about the selective breeding thing. very good point. im just sorta hoping that with the nutrients and lighting and methods of growing today might help with the potency. not to say they didnt have good methods 20 years ago. i will be sure to take lots of pictures

sounds like they germinated awfully easy, bit surprised, really old seeds are supposed to sprout slow?
of course, i never tried sprouting such old seeds

i just left them in a bag wrapped up in a soaking wet paper towell under our grow lights for like 2.5-3 days and they all split open and started to grow. i was also surprised to see they started so easily.
