sounds like your drying/curing process isnt taking long enough. The hay smell usually happens when the weed isnt dried properly.
Compact and loose buds are genetic. As a general rule, sativas have looser buds, and indicas have more compact buds... There are always exceptions (white widows have a lot of THC that has to be accomodated by bigger compact buds, even though it is sativa dominant).NOW I HAVE GROWN JUST A FEW PLANTS RECENTLY, AND THEY HAVE ALL BEEN CHRONIC BAG WEED,, BUT,, IS THERE CERTAIN PLANTS THAT JUST HAVE LOOSE BUDS, AND PLANTS THAT HAVE TIGHT BUDS, OR AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG,,, CAUSE,, I KEEP HEARING THAT ALL THE BUDS SHOULD BE TIGHT AND CRYSTALLY... I KNOW IM DOING THIS RIGHT, DUE TO THE GREAT BUD BUT, ALL MY PLANTS ARENT TIGHT BUDS NO MATTER HOW LONG I LET THEM GO, SOME FOR OVER 14 WEEKS,, AND STILL LOOSE,, GREAT,, BUT LOOSE, AND SMELL LIKE HAY SOMETIMES,, WHATS THAT, AND IS THERE A WAY TO NOT HAVE THAT AWEFULL SMELL,, HELP,,, PLEASE,
