Hey guys,

I believe it's time to trim some shit off my plant I just don't know where to begin or if it's even necessary.. can anyone help me out? I added some pic at the bottom. Can anyone recommend a video?? That would be awesome. I've been on YouTube but haven't found any that are clear... at least not to me. Any help?

that plants too small to even think about cutting anything off it. your trying to grow plants, cutting them apart as they grow isnt going to help anything. might want to cut those discolored leaves touching the top of your grow medium so you dont get mold and what not but other than that let it grow.

Why is there such a deep space from the soil to the lip of the pot? That is dead damp air perfect for growing bugs and molds.

Plant is just beginning to veg and grow . Why would you trim anything ?
Leave plant alone and go do some reading about growing.

You are gonna have to feel it out. If it was me I would top and cut off maybe 2 bottom branches that were obviously not gonna make it to the canopy. I veg for 2 months under 1000 watt MH and end up in 15-20 gallons, each plant getting a 1000 watt HPS. If this is your first time, then you'll have to decide on and figure it out. You can definitely be too aggressive and stunt your plant growth. Hydro tends to grow faster than soil, CFL's tend to make plants grow slower, IMO. So up to you and your situation. Always good when your starting out to have multiple plants side by side to compare. Lots of factors go in to supporting vigorous growth.

Plants are gorgeous, do yourself a favour and don't cut anything off of it.

Out of curiosity, where did you get the idea to cut it up?

The fan leaves are critical for light absorption (photosynthesis), especially at your young vegetative state.

I agree dont trim....like ever! Those leaves are like solar cells. More leaves, take in more light, equals more energy and growth. The only leaves I cut are ones that touch the damp soil. When the plant flowers, I begin to gently tuck in leaves here and there, to allow light to reach more bud sites. Rarely if ever will I cut fan leaves off.

Yup keep as many leaves as you can up until harvest. When you stop feeding to flush, the plant will cannibalize itself and use all the food stored in those green leaves. You'll see the leaves yellow up as the plant uses all available nutrition to finish buds.
