lol yup my friend told me about hatters and trolls, well its shitty etc well then gtfo the thread was better off without you coming in.
actually, the only useful information in this thread was provided by see4.

the only thing you, the 'natural genius', have provided is unfounded speculation about time travel machines that you claim exist.

does this seem like the type of thing a 'natural genius' would post about? https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/426654-seedling-stems.html

snark!

..hhmmmmmm and wut is time anyway??/um lemme think.....i know...NOTHING. because it doesnt exist. It's something we call because it needs a name. It is a collection of moments. There is only the moment. And after the moment there is memory of the moment...but the moment is gone. It exists only as saved data in synapses between brain cells. And that is quantifiable but not an excuse that time exists....because after the moment there is only anticipation of more moments to come. BUT anticipation isn't anything but more memories.
So it doesn't exist either.....but a time machine??????now that would be an app I would bye....lol

Wow!

You truly must be a natural genius if you can close a thread without the required permissions.

Go ahead.

Close it.

I'll wait. bongsmilie

If there were extra dimensions, would one be able to travel through "time" by skipping dimensions?
I realize it was TV time travel but you just never know. The universe may be stranger then anyone thought possible

While we're waiting on the natural genius to close the thread, I'll update Buck on my career re-tooling efforts.

I've finished up everything I started. Now comes the studying for the certifications.

A+ first. Then Cisco CCNA. Then Network Security+.

1,2,3.

The only complicating factor is I have been approached for a job. That's a good thing. I need experience and that is what I will need if I intend to run my own enterprise.

However, I don't need any distractions from my cert exam study.

I have a sit-down Monday. I'm even willing to work for free if I can have flexible hours. It's the experience I need.

I gave myself until the end of the year to get my mojo back. So I'm covered.

And there are a few other certifications I would like to snatch up as long as I am in this position.

What to do.

What to do....

Learn Spanish or maybe Manderin.
It was not that long ago that being bilingual was common and most educated people spoke a few languages. I would imagine it will become more important in the future when we wll become citizens of the world. More and more Chinese companies will be moving here as they buy up our induistry with the dollars we gave them for cheap plastic crap.

Interesting that you wrote that.

About twenty-five years ago John Naisbitt wrote a book entitled Megatrends.

In it he suggested learning Spanish and/or Mandarin Chinese.

sounds like a nice dilemma to have!

i was reeling for any constructive feedback, thanks to boneheadbob for providing it.

there will be plenty of opportunities to run your own show in the information technology department right here at home, but there will be even more if you make your services available over a wider market.

you could set up shop in a few select destinations that you enjoy.

imagine a working vacation in your favorite destination. sounds pretty nice, eh?

now to catch you up on my adventures in bumville.

i quit that job that i got. i got paid, took care of bills, and let them all clear. i checked my account and had enough to get me to work for the next two weeks, or to eat. but not both.

so i quit. spent the next day watching masters sunday golf. quitting was worth it for that alone.

a few days later, they mailed me my final paycheck. i am still sitting on it. amazing how productive and profitable i can be with my own little gig when i don't have to worry about breaking my back for shitty pay so that someone else may profit.

the real story right now though is that the weather is warming and the garden is coming along. the chickens have started laying, too.

i am going to hoe my garden into rows tonight and plant corn once it starts raining tomorrow evening. just got done laying down radishes tonight.

you can follow the garden here: https://www.rollitup.org/gardening/425732-portland-area-gardening.html

as for now, i am going to make myself an omelet from fresh laid eggs, and then have a few beers in the backyard while i watch the chickens free range.

those little buggers love to trample my onions, so i have to shoo them away every once in a while.

wishing you all the best as always.

vote for pedro.

I have tomatos, peppers, swiss chard, lettuce, beans, zucchini, sunflowers and cantalope. Most everything is reaching for the sun and getting big. Im jealous for the eggs and beer.

I hope you have a bountiful harvest

it needs to get a little warmer for the tomatoes, peppers, beans and cantaloupe. sounds like you are probably much further south than me, i'm up here by the 45th parallel.

glad to hear AZ got it's bill passed last year, oregon had a nice one on the ballot but lost. my brother down in AZ will be joining you with the license to kill.

ahem, grow.

Maybe you should consider Cisco.

An intelligent guy like you could handle it no problem.

It started out out hard. Then got easier. Then easier still. Then went back to hard. And finished out crazy hard.

Subnetting, ACLs, and NAT. Those are excruciating to wrap your head around. But everything else is cake.

Think about it. Surely there is a Cisco Academy nearby. There are 1 million Cisco students worldwide.

Networks are universal.

i'm keen on making a living with my hands at this point, not my brains or fingertips.

and i am way too enchanted with the simple, frugal life at this point. winter may change my mind.

as for now, it is the summer of unclebuck.
