I'm sure if I dig deep enough I can find a thread talking about this but I just thought this might be quicker....I guess this works indoors too soooo...iv always been told and I do belive I have read it somewhere that when you are harvesting in the day time ...especially like at the end of the day...all of the carbohydrates and starches are in the bud sites...but as the sun goes down they begin to head toward the limbs and stock...this being said the absolute best time would be to harvest right before day break or right before your lights come on...if I'm not mistaken your weed will have a harsher taste and may bring out more of the chlorophyll hay taste...because of frost and one of my plants not getting to where I wanted it I had to let one go a little longer and when I did a cold front came in and I had to chop it during the middle of the day...and I know for a fact between the two plants I had of that strain the one I am talking about wasnt near as good...can anyone weigh in on this with some info...I'm sure u indoor heads prob know the most about it..thanks!

I'm pretty sure you want to harvest around sun up or first light. The golden hour - 30 mins before sunrise and the next 30 mins after. Correct Me if I'm wrong

Yeah ..I meen that's kinda what I'm saying...I am trying to find the Web site I read this shit on ...it might been In high times...idk...but I think it said to try and cut them before the light actually gets to them so the starches and all the nasties don't come out into the bud ...and the best time would be right before sun up or lights on because it has had the longest amount of time it can possibly get to let everything head toward the stock. ...I'm wondering if putting a black out sheet or leaving your lights off for an extended period of time will draw more of the b.s outa the buds...that way your getting the cleanest best tasting shit u can possibly get

I had heard about indoor growers giving their plants an extra long dark period just before harvest. Hadn't thought about it as far as my outdoor grow goes. Most of my patches are a good half hour walk or more, so I would have to walk by starlight to get there before sun up. I might give it a try though. Less chance of running into anyone, and more time to deal with it that way.

That's what I always try to do...I had to cut one down in the day time like I said but I always walk down about an hr before daylight ...make sure the coast is clear...and take the branches off one by one ...stuff em into a cloth bag ...pull my stocks up ...cover the hole ...and high tail it...I usually try to take a super dim light with me just in case someone is around and I need to see ...it's bow season where I live when I harvest 90% of the time so you never know when somebody is walking around...that's one of the things I have to worry about putting up a frost cover or a blackout sheet too...they might miss my plants just walking by...but thy sure as shit aren't gonna miss a big fucking sheet just standing in the middle of a clearing

You should def try it man...i truly believe it helps...I'm guessing that is one of the reasons they leave the lights off along with some other benefits...I was pretty sure I had heard it before ...glad someone confirmed it for me lol.....I have hung some bags I made over my plants and poured baking soda and vinegar in a bucked to give them co2 outdoors and o truly believe it helped...I wish I could do it more often but I'm always scared someone will see me...either on the ground or in the sky

It is bow season here when I harvest too. I always try to have them gone by the start of gun season. Too many people in the woods then.

I gave my plants brown sugar, bone meal and fish emulsion teas {in addition to the regular bloom food} down the stretch last year. But I only had 12 girls. Many more planned for this grow, so no TLC. They will be on their own for much of the time. I do want to check for males, as getting seeds to go forward is still my main goal.

I don't use any artificial materials for changing light {other than string}, but I have pulled brush over to let the sun in. It's easy to pull young trees over and secure them with string or vines. I guess you could do the same thing for blocking the light.

But it is a long walk to all my patches. {and I'm no spring chicken} I don't want to have to make it twice in two days. I'll just try to get there at daylight.

I would just go in with a bow if you have one and a backpack like I do...I also take the bag I spoke of...at least dress for hunting somewhat...nobody will suspect anything if you are walking in early with a light really....I don't like doin it though.....but I don't think shade would do that good for the light situation...it might help a tad but I think it would have to be total darkness ....but getting them down early before daylight def helps the tatse...
