Time question..

So when do you start counting how old your plant is? When you start germinating? Once your seed is germinated and planted? Or once it has sprouted out of the soil?

The number of days flowering is the important number. You can veg plants forever but each will only flower for a certain amount of time before ripeness. Different strains have different flowering times.

Alright thanks mother! Seeds just popped their half inch tails this morning and i potted them so I was wondering if this was day 1 lol. Thanks for all your help so far!

i think most people call day 1 when they pop out of the soil after germination..

yah, i also consider day one when they pop out of the soil..

When the seedling first pops out of the soil, I give it 1 week for what I call the seedling stage.

After that I consider my plants to be in the veg stage of growth and I start counting from there.

Usually 3 to 5 weeks of vegging and I trigger flowering.

At that point most of them are showing pre-flowers, so when I change to 12/12 that's my day 1 of flowering.

It's day 1 of veg and just make a note of which day they start flowering. Counting from germination is for record-keeping and doesn't really get you any helpful information. Counting how long a strain takes to flower can be useful the next time you flower the same kind at the same height because it should take about the same amount of time.

If you take pics at a certain veg date, you can then compare future plants of the same age to the size and bushyness of the plant in the pic to refine your techniques.

Germination- From when the seed germinates in the napkin.
Vegatative- 'Til the first real set of leaves show.
Flowering- 'Til the sex shows.
