Time to harvest?

I'm a novice grower and working on my 2nd harvest. I have 50%/50% trichs (amber/cloudy) which would seem to indicate that they are ready. However I am still getting lots of new growth (white at tips, etc). I currently have a plant with small "nuggets" and if I let the new growth fully mature then my plants will have much more bulk.

Question:
1- How late is too late to harvest? What will I see if the plant is overripe?
2- Is there a suggested way to balance this out (harvesting with 50/50 and still letting the plant fill out?

Are you checking locations all over? I have seen what seemed to be 50/50 amber in one spot and in another there were very few amber. You might not be as far along as you think. Plus even if it is 50/50, that still gives you a lot of time before you have to worry about thc degradation. Patience.

Search on here for zues's take on harvesting,
good read...basically says to wait for hairs to brown and kind of shrivel into bud,and also to look for swollen seed brakets by stem....what strain is it and how long have you been flowering it?

Do you have any idea what strain the bagseed is?
If not no worries, but 10 weeks is fine for an indica dominant like bubakush, but sativa dominant like sourdesil can take 10.5 to 11.5 weeks....
Upload a picture and get a good shot and we can better guess its ripness.
But def search "zues take on harvesting" aswell very informative
