Pregrow and Setup Info! (Pics Included ) Questions/Concerns in Red

Not sure if i can do it alone so I wanna keep a journal and hopefully you guys can teach me a thing or two again. I still consider myself a newbie, specially with the new and hopefully improved setup. Been taking long strides to fix heating issues in the summer but now that WINTER IS COMING!. I shall no longer fear the heat. So lets get this going!


Light: Sun System 250w MH and HPS Lamp with 4-26w CFLs
Girlfriend says no more power for my box so no 400w I also did take apart the lamp to remove the big ass hood and is it a bad idea to have the blub the way i do? (Pix) The CFL have a mount and can also be moved to stands for when the plants are smaller.

Medium: 5 Gal HYDRO Buckets with 4" Disc Air Stones in each powered by a Eco Plus Air Pump. Rockwool, 3" Net Pots, then moving to 8" Net Pots til harvest.
I do intend to not have to use anything bigger then these. Please let me know if i should reconsider. as i do not know exactly how big a root ball can get before i must expand. But the plants should hopefully not get any taller then 2.5ft. Plan to veg for +-4 weeks then switch to flower. I do plan to make a Scrog Net to help with height and i plan to train here and there.

Nutes: Flora Trio with Bot. Cal-Mag also looking for something i can add for flowering like a bud booster.

Ventilation: 2 (Can add one more) 6" Intake Fans (i know some people say you don't need em but fuck it they're there now)... and a 6" CAN FAN that is the exhaust. (<--Might be cause of excess heat) Honeywell Fan with Custom Copper AC? (Works alright but didnt solve my heat problem completely during the summer)

The room temp the box is in stays around 74 degrees. Box temp is around 70 when light is off. Lights on it gets about 84. Should drop cause WINTER IS COMING!

Day 11

After failing at germinating some seed i finally got 4 to pop and had a friend donate a "Platinum Kush" seed that he found and Bam! that one popped. So im currently up to 5 girls (hopefully) . I originally planned on only having one cabinet. So much for that... ended up making a smaller hydro veg box. Also i am finishing up a loner to adjust temp and stuff in the bigger box. Which is a pita on its own but onto the small veg box.

Working on rising the humidity, a small oscillating fan and a maybe a 3 Gal Container. (5 gal is a little heavy to pull out since the door is the lid of the box.)

Veg Box Stats: Lights On
Humidity: 30-40%
Temp: 82-88F

PPM: Water bubbles for a day or two and sits at around 150 ppm. Can I add Cal-Mag to this? I read its mostly only for RO water or Distilled. But i figured my ppm is a little on the low side.
PH: 6.0 +-

Its Day 11 and they are working on their trio-leaves. I'm assuming I can start their veg nutes soon possibly at 1/2 dosage. I need a little help with this part.
I have FloraMicro, Gro, and Bloom. I've heard of many different ppm targets and some even using all 3 during veg. So if anyone can direct me to a safe ppm target when using these nutes and which nutes to use and when to begin?. Also, I should be able to veg about 3 plants in this box with 5-26w CFLS....right?

Day 27
Sooo... My mom came in to town and stayed with me for the past week so desperately had to leave my two boxes tucked away with the door perm locked for about a week . Not sure how but i guess i did something right.

Alright so i figured id take it easy on the nutes til i get better at the PPM thing. So i added equal amounts of the Flora Trio 1ml for every gallon til it brought my up to 450 PPMs. The plants have stayed at 450 PPMs and the PH sits at 6.0. Over the week they changed quite a bit i topped them as soon as i got the chance. Still cant find the Target PPM for vegging and then flowering with this Flora trio. Not sure about the Lucas Formula or bah...Someone please slap me with some notes!!


HOLY SHIT GUESS WHAT! I figured out my heat issue and im going bare bulb...oo yea.. PLus i got a brand new 250 watter that puts out a whooopping 33k Lumens.
No but really i am excited. GF got me a 6" vortex inline fan off C-Lists for 50 bucks, which is stupid overkill for my 36 Cubic foot Cabinet. But i did buy a Remote Speed Controller for it and have it dialed down. Made a Cheap carbon scrubber that now gets sucked thru the massive fan and pushed out the back. 4" inch duct down the back and now exits thru the dryer hose tube thingy!!!

Big cabinet is now wrapped in Panda Film and sports a much cooler interior. Ready for 2(?) DWC plants. Which in the pic you can see two of them are significantly larger then the other two im thinking these are HES! Cabinet sits at 35-45% Humidity and 78-82 degrees.

Help... my 4 plants are now wanting to intertwine with each other and its gonna get messy from the looks of it. How do I separate these when i move them into their own 5 gal Buckets without damaging the roots.

My beater plant is in there...Shes been a trooper. Clawing like a bitch but ima try and fix that, its probably caused by an Overfeed maybe my prolonged heat issue and other experiments ive put her thru...who knows..I dont even know when she was planted.

Day 32

Fuck so i had to pull them apart and yea i dont think it went so good...Had to almost rip them apart. They're in a new container for the veg box.

2 are about 7" high and the other 2 are about 4" in height..im thinkin the shorter ones are females..not sure when im going to flip them..Planning on some LST to grow them a lil sideways.

Hopefully they dont die....

Thanks, They survived the night and looked fine right before the lights went off. Im guessing itll take them 2 or 3 days to recover...after all a weeds a weed and all they know is to grow.

I think they will be fine PRB. You flipping when they recover. Sexing plants is no fun, hate wasting that time and energy, lol. Hoping there are a couple females in there for you. Peace

After a couple days of recovery I'm startin to see them perk up a little more. LST'd the tallers ones with some twine i had layin around and knocked one of the smaller ones down a little. Im gonna veg the bigger ones for another week and throw them in the flower box, and leave the smaller two vegging for a bit longer

Sadly being confined to two small cabinets is making 3 plants hard to maintain. Ill definitely size down to only 2 plants in the veg box and hopefully still maintain 3 going in the flower box.

Day 44

Separated the biggest one and plan to Flower her(hopefully) in the next couple days.
Revamped the area til "she" recovers from the second I played with her roots. The other 3 weren't tangled again so i left them in the box.

Redid and cleaned up the flower box. Temps get to about 80 degrees lights on. With the Water Cooler on the fan, the box can drop about 4-6 degrees while lights on just in case i need to cool it down to low 70s during the last week or two of flowering. Made a little reflector for my bulb and ballast now sits outside the box. Heat issue solved 100%, clean and ready to flower everything i throw in there. MWAHAHaha.



Also up and close pics of my lab rat. I flushed her yesterday with PH'd water and added a lil nitrogen to see if i can make her look better before harvest. Contrary to how she looks, she does have a nice smell to her..not sure when i should harvest since her Trichs aren't very well developed. I really wanna do it soon but im guessin safe bet would be wait til most of the hairs are brown. I probably should tried a little harder on her..o well, Shut up Meg.

Day 49


I harvest the solo plant..Should be some decent smoke with a good cure. I Removed both of the bigger plants and moved them into the Flower box under a 250w MH Light for 18/6 while they get used to the light and i get some final lsting and a couple more shoots. I think they look alright and they are steadly growing since 2 days ago. The switch to Flower will happen tomorrow!!

..yea man. attchin a small scrog net on top of these two.

Day 61

Day 11 of flower..After switching them over waited about 9 days and one turned out to be a male.. chopped. The other one showed sex 2 days after...we have a GIRL!!

Raised nutes to 900 ppm still using Flora trio... After looking around I'm going with Flora Nova for bloom and possibly running Koolbloom for a week or two as a sweetener. I added my small Scrog and got her tied down.

Day 1 of flower for the runner up. Sitting at 650 ppm. Still need to train this one ( right side plant in pic).

Day 74

Miss Uno : 24 Days into Flowering
Miss Dos : 14 Days into Flowering
Alrighty.. I think Im makin decent progress with these ladies. The runner up ended up a girl . I've switch Uno to FloraNova at 800 ppm today so im hoping to start packin on the weight! Hopefully i can soon add Koolbloom to my flowering nutes for about 2 weeks during the flowering period. Dos is sitting in the Flora trio still. The scrog worked alright but im diffidently thinging on making some sort of Tub that can sit in the box and be emptied out by a small water pump, Thus allowing me to make a permanent Scrog.

Either way im pleased so far

Uno : 39 Days into Flower
Dos : 29 Days into Flower

It's been about 2 weeks since last post due to work and a busy ass Christmas week. Plants are in full flower and Dos will be switching to Flora Nova at 900 ppm like Uno. Took some extra pics! Let me know what you guys think!!

Also added a new 6" Carbon scrubber held by bungees.

Still packin on weight! My last plant ended up a female making my flowering cabinet over crowded but since these are bag seeds ill cram them in there and try to make the best maybe add some extra cfls.

Uno : 60 Days flowering
Dos : 50 Days flowering
Tres : +-15 Days flowering

Uno and Doos are both starting to ripen up so they are now in Clearex at 2 tbs a gal. Tres is in FloraNova at 700 ppms and is super bushy, wish I had more room but im hoping the other two will finish in 2 weeks. Hopefully popping 3 more seeds tomorrow, Afghan Kush, PPP and another random incase one of the two dont make it.

Day 115

Changed Uno and Dos to plain water after 4 days in Clearex. Tres is in 900 ppm Floranova.

Uno and dos smell so fuckin gooood. Im definitely stickin with hydro. Sunk 3 seeds in phd water to see if they pop better then in normal tap water. If it works ill toss the afgan kush and ppp in.

Day 58 for Tres sitting at 900 ppms 6.0 ph.

It's been a while since I've updated this thread but the other two have been chopped and are now curing!

BIG UPDATE!!

New cabinet that contains everything!


Still working on Dwc two bucket system and some other small things . But very pleased so far .

I'll update pics of uno and Dos later ..not workin right on app.
