Timer problem

i got 400 watts of mh an 400 watts hps going thru the same timer an timer runs slow throwing off the time/light cycle im using a heavy duty timer from walmart wondering what works for the guys that have the big lights thanks alot

go and by a new timer

the same one or is there something better
