Timers?

Hi peeps,

What kind of time do i need for my 600w ballast?

I have 2, 1 digital and 1 mec but dont think they will work.

Any help you be great.

Any particular reason you don't think they'll work? The only requirement really, is that the timer in question can handle the watts and amps of your devices, and be grounded. For one 600w lamp you wouldn't even need a heavy duty timer.:peace:

Really?

From what i have read a normal household time would burn out, its contactors cannot with stand the initial power surge ballast draw when firing up.

Do you use just a timer or no timer at all?

I have a mechanical timer in my veg room, running 648 actual watts of CFL's plus a fan, and a cheap digital timer in my flower room running 2 400w HPS lamps.

Im going to give it a try i think, i use 240v, would that make a difference to 110v?

i bought mine at home depot. it's grounded and rated for 1k. I run my 1000watt MH plu combined wattage from the ballast through it and it works great so far. been using a little more than a month.
