hey guys im growing 2 little plants right now in a blue plastic tub about 2 1/2 feet tall and about 1 1/2 tall. would it be a good idea to line the inside with tin foil? ive seen people with reflective lining and my light power is weak so maybe it will help cuz it reflects? currently i only have 2 !3 watt CFLs in there....i know its not even close to being enough but right now thats all i can get.

any info will help

yo dont use tin foil its the worst thing to use. i use the mylar ballons. i cut them and i turn them inside out and staple them bitches tight. i recommend it over tin foil and you can get these ballons easily as tin foil.

p.s. if you cut the ballons make sure you put them up right away after cause if you leave them out they curl. they still work fine but its a hassle.

Tin foil is generally a no-no as a reflective sheet substitute because it reflects alot of heat and can create hotspots and burn plants but i think in your case you dont have enough light or heat to burn anything so i dont think it would do any harm, if you get a more powerful light/s then take it down and use mylar, diamond mylar or paint growroom walls matt white.

When you post youl see the manage attachments box thing under the post box, you can upload your pics from your computer from there.

You wanna transplant when the plants have rooted out the containers theyre in now, when theres roots at the bottom of it.

Was thinking the same thing?

Did you not put any drainage holes in the cups?

If so wait till you have roots at the holes.

If not pot up in another week.

Get some pots for next grow.

Foil has worked fine for me, in a rubbermaid setup with 8 CFL's (26 watts each). I use the dull side out.

I'm not sure where these ''burn'' rumors come from, and I've never seen photo evidence of such claims.

If you ever used a 600w hps with tin foil as sheeting youd know what everyone was going on about, them little cfls dont produce enough light or heat to be reflected and concentrated onto your plants by the foil, and just because youve never seen a photo of something doesnt mean it doesnt happen, only a tiny fraction of all the grows that are going on out there are documented on sites like this. Experienced growers give out the advice of not using tin foil for good reason.

yea word i hear that..

its like using a tinny or a bong. ones better for a reason.

but yo you know them ballons they fill at ballon stores with designs on them and the silver lining inside? they are called mylar ballons. you can buy packs of individual ballons. its like 3 bucks a pop but you get like a 2 feet of mylar. rite aid has them so does k mart so you can get them anywhere.

its way better looking then foil to.
