Tiny white bugs !

Can anybody help me, As I went to water my plants today I saw these very small white bugs crawling in and out of the compost ! The big ones are about 1mm long and move very quick and I'm sure they jump ! My plants look healthy and these little bugs don't seem to be on any of the plants, What are they ? Will they Damage my plants in any way ? and what would I need to get to get rid of them ?

personally i would get rid of them.

oh ya try some insecticidal soap i use "safers" , are they white flies , a pic would help

There too small to get a picture of and I don't think they are white fly. Could they be knats ?

Hello, don't worry found a thread by Amber999 called Bugs that don't die. Think I've definately got the same bugs as what they've got and they don't seem to do any harm. Found a few good tips, so all is well. Thanxs for replying kuhdoffi.
