imo this is the best experience I have had with clones and seedlings. I used an 8oz hard plastic cup and a 16oz solo cup. Drill 5 holes in the bottom of the hard plastic cup and then put your seed or clone in there with soil . Put the clear cup in the solo cup and now you can see your roots and know when to transplant for newbs like meh
Hope this helps anyone that wants to see their roots and know when to transplant without roots growing out the bottom and being damaged. It helped me. Also let's you know how fast roots are growing! Just make sure you don't let bright ass lights hit the roots i believe thats a no no
