Tips needed on misting???

Hi,
when i have been told to mist my plants, i am not confident with what this involves. can someone please tell me:

how often?
wat with? just water or water and feed?
shall i use any sort of spray bottle?

Some people "foliar feed" which is another way to fertilize you plant daily through misting with nutes. I dont feel this is a god method, nor would i reccomend it. plus if you are using HID lighting the plants will burn if you mist them while lights are on.hope this helps.

Mist cuttings that have not yet formed roots with ph adjusted water. The cuttings drink up water from the mist.
Eventually they form roots, for water and nutrients.
