What is your humidity level now, because I have never experienced a low humidity problem for herb.Trying to avoid buying a humidifier as it is a small tent. Wanna know if there is anything I can do without one.
I'm around 25% and sometimes it dips down to 20%. I'm trying to get it to around 40%.What is your humidity level now, because I have never experienced a low humidity problem for herb.
High humidity, like above 60% can be an issue for bud rot, but never heard of too low.
don't worry too much about low humidity, plants grow fine with rh swings on the low side, in flower u gotta be careful with high rhI'm around 25% and sometimes it dips down to 20%. I'm trying to get it to around 40%.
It stays consistently at 20-25% rh. If that won't be an issue for growing then I won't worry about changing it.don't worry too much about low humidity, plants grow fine with rh swings on the low side, in flower u gotta be careful with high rh
Where do you live? Like in a desert? It stays consistently at 20-25% rh. If that won't be an issue for growing then I won't worry about changing it.
I appreciate it man. temps are not a problem. I have that under control. Thats why my humidity is so low. I keep my temps between 75-80 degrees. This will be my first grow too. I plan on making a journal on here. Hopefully it goes well.Where do you live? Like in a desert?
Never seen 25% humidity.
Where I live in CT, my average is in the 70's and that's why I don't grow (indoors) in the summer
I would kill for your humidity levels.
Humidity is not an issue in your case, worry more about high temps.
Anyway, welcome too RIU my friend.
Good luck with your grow.
Low RH is an issue in veg. A few ways to raise your RHIt stays consistently at 20-25% rh. If that won't be an issue for growing then I won't worry about changing it.
Thank you. I appreciate it.Low RH is an issue in veg. A few ways to raise your RH
1. buy a cheap humidifier (it exist)
2. hang a wet towel in your grow room
3. place an open container full of water in your grow room
out of the 3...#1 is the best way

Don't buy the oil, just use it as a humidifier.
I live in a state that rarely gets to 50% RH, so I use the above diffuser during veg stage.
So just a spray bottle then?I've lived in the desert southwest. Don't buy s humidifier. Just mist them
Yes, sir.So just a spray bottle then?
I think I'll keep it simple. This is my first grow. I'm learning as I go haha.Yes, sir.
Actually there are people who do both foliar feeding as well as direct. Weak on both. They can take up the nutes through the leaves.
Damned good plan. Cheap spray bottles.I think I'll keep it simple. This is my first grow. I'm learning as I go haha.
Thanks for the tips. I went and got a nice spray bottle from the garden section at my local walmart. How often should I mist for best result?Hi Chafin96,
Welcome to RUI and to ganja growing. It's a rewarding hobby.
I grew up in the midwest and keeping humidity up during heating season is an issue. The humidifier idea is OK but just another piece of equipment to tend. They will grow mold too if neglected.
I like Harley's idea...you can always count on him to keep things basic and functional. I like misting my plants and they like it too. Just not in late flowering.
I have seen guys dealing with it by simply laying out pans of water on available surfaces. I've actually done it and you can determine how many pans you need...to reach a desired RH.

There's no easy answer...How often should I mist for best result?
Ok, will do. Appreciate it.There's no easy answer...
There is a possible downside. I have heard both theoretically and from people who have had it happen...that the little water droplets can act like a magnifying glass and cause little burns on the leaves. Perhaps with a 1000 watt HID but I've never had it happen with 600s. So start easy and inspect leaves to make sure all is well. I would think a couple times a day should be fine...and go up from there as needed.

Shit...I'm sort of a worrier. I'd feel terrible if I advised someone and they got hurt. So here's another safety precaution. Never get any mist on a hot HID light. They can explode. Maybe that's not even an issue with your grow but I had to say it.Ok, will do. Appreciate it.
I'm using LED. I am gonna start at misting once or twice a day and if they need more I'll do more. I managed to get my humidity to 48% and keep it consistent at 40. I may not even have to mist it regularly.Shit...I'm sort of a worrier. I'd feel terrible if I advised someone and they got hurt. So here's another safety precaution.
