I am not an obtuse or contrary person. a landscaper and tree surgeon by profession for almost 10 years now. I take things for what they are and call it how I see it. When I agree I agree. we are not growing grass, though. Keep it relative- like discussing substrate culture. fruit trees and vegetables are a lot more comparable.Well that makes me happy cause I was sure you wouldn't. I was sure I generalized to much or screwed something up.
Golf courses put a lot of science and money into keeping the greens perfect . There is a member here that was a turf boss. he has some great info on how much they put into the greens. Microbe fertalazation is wide spread now and a lot of residential landscapers now offer.
Try the "biobizz" line of products- should be sold locally there I think.hey.,im italian and Dr earth is not sold here, have u some advice on substitute products?

Nothing wrong with generalizing- unless someone is just off. I can tell you have been stung- get over it.
Better get mama to pull that stinger out tws!Stung ? get over what ? WTF are you talking about ? Do you tweak ?
Your post has helped clear up a lot of questions for me Treemansbuds Hope you dont mind, but im probably going to model my first outdoor grow after your setup. Do you use Maxseas acid mix at all, or just the 16-16-16 and 3-20-20?With this soil mix no need to feed for the first 6-7 weeks, maybe a tea or two. If I go into the ground May 14th, and if I get 6-7 weeks of feeding with that mix, that gets me to July 1st. Then I feed with grow tea's and Maxsea 16-16-16 for 6-7 weeks. When I feed, I feed lite, 3 tbs of Maxsea to a 5 gallon pale, once a week to each plant. That gets me to mid-late August. Then it's teas (adjusted for flowering) and Maxsea bloom 3-20-20 for 6-7 weeks, then JUST teas the last 2 weeks .

Note: last year I grew in 100 and 150 gallon Smart pots. This year I'm growing in 200 gallon Smart pots, so I'm hoping to get more veg time before feeding Maxsea.

It will be fun following your grow if you model off mine.Your post has helped clear up a lot of questions for me Treemansbuds Hope you dont mind, but im probably going to model my first outdoor grow after your setup. Do you use Maxseas acid mix at all, or just the 16-16-16 and 3-20-20?
Also, im looking to get the biggest plants I can get this first season to give me what I need to keep on keeping on. Would you recommend the smart pots, or would using a backhoe to dig a pretty deep hole then reconditioning the soil from there and refilling work better?
Ill be late into this season, hoping to start seeds by march or april. If all goes well ill end up on a plot in southern ColoradoIt will be fun following your grow if you model off mine.
Where you at Dog? West coast?
I'm a firm believer in Smart pots!
Marijuana likes 2 grow wide roots vs. deep roots, keep that in mind when growing MJ.
Years past I've dug big holes, amended the soil, and grew some nice big plants. Then I did an experiment and grew a single plant out of a 100 gallon Smart pot. That plant yielded about 30% more bud vs in the ground. Since then it's been all Smart Pots for me. The down side to Smart Pots is they use WAY more water than growing in the ground. Last year each plant received 15-20 gallons of water every day in those 100-150 gallon Smart Pots. This is a huge factor if growing where water is scarce.
I've never used the Maxsea acid mix, this is the first I've heard about it, I'll research.
Feel free to ask any questions, my seeds get started this weekend for this summer/fall!

When you use smart skits do you put something under stop the plants from rooting in the groundIt will be fun following your grow if you model off mine.

Yes and no....When you use smart skits do you put something under stop the plants from rooting in the ground
I tried calling you twice today...TMB the medijuana from hodge is the same as mine. If I remember right I took my pollen and pollenated his plant that I gave to him. only difference would be the way he grew the plant and the time of harvesting the seed. I would like a male of what you start or pollen. AMS just sent me replacements for the ones they f----- up last year. I'd like to grow one of their new strain type and back cross it with the old strain type.
What is hardware clothYes and no....
I put hardware cloth under them to keep the gophers/moles from digging through the bottom and eating the roots. If the roots want to grow through the pots and into the ground below I would think that would be a good thing. Think how healthy that soil would be with all that good stuff leaching through the pot into that ground below.
