Im sure you guys all know this, your not dumb. sb420 and prop 215 are a joke. They do nothing as far as us smokers are concerned. You cannot carry nug on you at all. Only time you are allowed to have pot on you is when your coming home from the clinic. My buddy got a D.U.I. because he had pot, not in a stapled clinic bag. Just be careful out there, well never be safe.

depends on what cop u get pulled over by. I straight up crashed into someones shed and ended up with nothing other than having to pay the property damage. Cops can give u good customer service or bad customer service, just like anywhere. I am not a cop or a friend of a cop by any means, just saying ive had good experiences with them where i live. If that changes i will definently speak my mind lol, believe me.

They aren't really a joke, I actually have had rather pleasant experiences with law enforcement but the rogue cop can be a dick. I'm not saying it didn't happen but mere possession of marijuana doesn't warrant a DUI or DWI arrest. It's like being arrested for DUI because you have a beer in the car (unopened). I doubt this one is going to stick as charged.

You can have marijuana on you at all times but, like alcohol, it cannot be used in public and must be properly stored when in transport. Having it in a stapled bag doesn't seem to prove much and certainly isn't written into law. 99% of the times I've been in clinics they have just given me a lunch bag and folded it over. Sounds like your friend is getting a raw deal.

if your buddy is/was a patient and was not smoking in the car, he should be fine. prop 215 is not bullshit, of course it doesn't protect non-patients but that's just common sense.

Sorry about your buddy, but why was his nugs out of the bag before he got home? I once seen a lady come out of a dispensery, go into her car, open the bag right in the parking lot only for a cop to pull up and busted her right on the spot. I treat my bud like I treat guns and alcohol. Hidden and locked up in the trunk.

i was wondering about this kind of situation myself since conneticut has just become a med state.the police can lie and say ur under the influense of mj just because its in the car there is no way to prove u r or r not high since it stays in your system so long i see alotof problems ahead maybe they will come out with some kind of weed breathalizer lol.

They can pull you over and question you, but to report that your under the influence will take evidence, like recording you driving reckless with their dash cam. Now they can lie to your face to get a confession but without proof the judge will toss it out.

sounds logical but the judge might throw it out after they tow your car put a bond onyou you miss work for court bullshit its not worth the risk but i love to smoke n i love to drive.

Buds need to be transported in the trunk an all times. Don't give the cops the opportunity to power trip.

This has nothing to do with 420 or 215. You are not allowed to drive under the influence of any drug if the drug has compromised your ability to operate a motor vehicle. There is a lot of information you are leaving out.

they have to prove BEYOND A REASONABLE doubt u were driving under the influence just having weed doesnt mean u where smoking

Best way to solve that problem....keep your shit locked up when in the car....dont have anything in the car that can be considered paraphernalia.....don't drive while you are high.

hate to be politically incorrect but fuck if I drive off my medicine I am likely to wreck!

My friends were out shooting and had a ranger roll up on them. He saw the glass next to the ammo, made a comment about getting high and shooting, then went on his way. If 215/420 are a joke, then they're great jokes that never get old and can be told time and time again.

I live in cali and have my card. Knock on wood, I have been pulled over multiple times by cops for other reasons like speeding or tinted windows and they smelled the weed with no legal action taken upon me. Cops have asked me where the weed is at and I pull out the meds and my card from my center console. They look at it smell it and give it back everytime. I hand a caregiver the first year I got my card. Cops saw the plants my friend was growing for me with my script hanging, they just took pictures and left. We harvested a few weeks later, never heard from the cops again. Hell I have even smoked weed in the parking lot of a bar in my car and the cop just said stop. Cop pulled me over multiple times, never got arrested, meds never confiscated. Just be honest and dont be a dick and cops be coo to you.

Yeh...the cop that came into my house other day was very friendly. confirmed we were patients...didn't even check plant count and left us alone...even went out of his way to call the person who called the cops on us and let them know that we are completely legal.

got pulled over by chp about a month ago for a bullshit stop sign violation and i was traveling 2hours to go to a friends house for 2 nights. i medicate and have a prescription for insomnia i really cant sleep without it so i need to take it with me. anyway i get pulled over by one chp he smells weed and see's the clones in the back seat and asks how much i have i pull out a little jar and say 5 grams and also hand him my card. meanwhile 2 more chp pull up. also btw i have a loaded unlocked 12gauge shotgun in a case in the trunk, 2 grams of hash in my center consol, a pint of promethazine not prescribed to me full and un opended in the back seat, and a bowie knife in each of my front doors with no sheaths. so then the officers ask how long ago i had smoked i personaly know the legal cutoff is 30minutes so i answered "hours ago" and he would not let it go i got frustrated and anoyyed and gave him a little lip, but i truley wasent high and i told him a million times i wasent high. so he makes me get out and do a field sobrity test i follow there orders and im doing just fine with it but they purposly turned my back to my car and a cop was sneaking into my car, i heard my door open so i immediately stopped and turned around and started saying i dont consent to a search this is an illegal search. the officer in my car had the bottle of promethazine in his hand at that point and all my knifes too and walked over to me and got in my face and told me to shut up and take my hands out of my pockets or he was gunna "put me the fuck down" and i didnt even have my hands in my pockets!!! anyway all the illegal shit he found during his illegal search he put back in my car. they then told me i was not legaly aloud to travel with my 5grams to san luid obispo for my 2 day trip!! i got very angry and started arguing how the fuck can you tell a patient who needs this medication to sleep he cant travel with his medication its bull shit. oh and on top of all of it they then told me that my medical card wasent real!!! and that i needed to get a new one even though i just had it renewed!! and regardless of all the stuff they said they made me get back into my car and they personally opened my trunk placed my clones weed and knives right next to my gun i was shitting bricks thinking they would see the gun case when they opened it but then next thing i know i hear my trunk close and they tell me to get lost. but this was some fucking bullshit they completely abused my rights and they made that even more clear by not even taking the stuff they found because they knew it was an illegal search and it wouldn't hold up in court. the threats from the officer were unnecessary aswell considered one i had been patted down and searched 2 times prior and i didnt even have my hands in my pockets anyway but so fucking what if i did!! you already searched me TWO TIMES and its freezing balls out.
