are you retarded? nothing you say make sense. and if anything people who believe in god are cowards because a lot of people believe in god because they are afraid of going to hell.

That's a little extreme. People like that aren't real christians. Religion gives people hope and explanation. A false hope IMO, but hey that's their thing.

I understand what your saying but I still don't think that was extreme. They even call themselves god fearing christians. Which means they are afraid to do anything because their god will send them to hell.it even says in the bible that god killed all his people except noah and his family which is pretty fucked up. If I believed in a god I definately would not be afraid of it. All this hope and peace and stuff has nothing to do with god, you can do all that without religion. Real christians do in fact believe in the bible so they believe in gods wrath. It is the fake christians who don't believe the scripture and use it for hope peace and whatever else they talk themselves into thinking.many people who call themselves christians do not believe what the religion preaches.

Sure I've got a soul Every morning it tells me to wake up, smoke a bowl, eat food, and goto sleep at the end of the day. I'm sure one day it will get tired of the same routine go on strike. I would if it was my job!

ermm.... what about if your belief is that all science is wrong..or that the religous life is the life for everyone. I NO thats dangerous, religions ask for belief in the unknown whithout an explination. Just believe, dont find out for your self, through scientific research just hope.
Would we have the methods of education we use without scientific factual information
would we have the medicines and surgerys we relish so much without factual LOGICAL information
or do you believe that god told us how to do these things and we are just very lucky that there are soooooo many christians\hindu's\sihks\muslims\buddists\etc etc etc
on our planet that we have been saved.

Can anyone see how dangerous a view it is to say the world is only 3000 years when we NO that the world is XXbillion years old

Ignoring facts and using religous excuses is more dangerous to the world as a whole, than any drug we have in exsistance.

From what knowledge I've accumulated so far as an atheist, my feeling about whether I have a soul is no. I don't think I/anyone has one. Here's a good way to conceptualize the incoherent mathematics of trying to determine if we have souls or not.

i could probably claim i have a soul and define it however i want, but there would be little point. of what use is a soul to me now? does it feed me or my neighbors? does it right the wrongs of the world or bring peace to the troubled? does this soul make me a better person or is the fact that i am a better person mean i have a soul? where is it my soul would reside?

you have asked a useless question. without a definition or a purpose the very term "soul" is a useless word. perhaps you misspelled it and meant to write "sole". if that is the case, i have two of them at present and will have four should i decide to put on my shoes later.

If you're asking whether we have souls in the James Brown sense, then fuck yes. If you mean in the metaphysical sense? No. Why? Imo, nothing would make life more meaningless than an eternal after-party.
