To Auto or not to Auto.... Dinafem Haze Automatic +pics

Before I joined this site, when I used to grow, I would always use bagseed. Finally I got the money to order real seeds. When I found out there such a thing as automatics and that people were crossing plant with ruderalis, I was disgusted. It sounded so unpure and untrue to the plant. Long story short, I placed my first order, and they threw in some free autos, one being one of HT's 2010's plants of the year; Dinafem's Haze automatic. I wasn't expecting much. Then, I'll be damned if after about two weeks, the son-of-a-bitch started showing pistils. I couldn't believe it. This plants about 5 inches tall, growing pistils...lol

So I said ok, It's supposed to do that. Then the damn thing starts branching like crazy! Ruderalis isn't supposed to be a big brancher.

I swear. My opinion of autos has completely flipped 180 degrees. It'll be done long befor the others, giving me something to smoke while I wait. I don't have to fuck with the lights. Hell if it ever actually rained here, I could plant it, forget about it for three months and come back and harvest it (i read that outta high times but it feels true). That damn thing is just dying to eat and grow like crazy. I am truely impressed. The only thing that worries me is that it's still a ruderalis cross. What if it's not potent? What if it's weak? Or shitty tasting?

Idk, I don't think HT would give one of the top ten spots (considering there are so many strains out there), if it wasn''t a serious contender. I cant wait to see how this one turns out.:bigjoint:

I tried auto's. And i dont like em, they dont grow so "good" Same strain (Gnomo -Kannabia seeds), 6 plants, good smoke, nice high, low yield. At the same time i grew LowLyder #1, 2 plants, and thats was a waste of time, space and energy. Im gonna stick to clones, much better :D

isnt ruderalis a sub-species of sativa? hence sativa is more closely related to to ruderalis than indica? meaning less messing around with extra-species hybridisation? well thats just food for thought anyway.

think i might have to try these for myself also. an outdoor grow without having to wait till autumn. well sounds good anyway.

Yeah, it is a sub species of sativa. But theres a lot of work still left to do on the to make the commercially viable. But having an early harvest I think is cool.

Whats up man, nice looking plants. She looks happy. +rep.
Thank you man. I would love to see your 13 strain harvest. I cant wait till I can get my op really up and running.

My camera isnt good for these kinda pics though but i'll do the best im able. She would have been taller but i tried fimming the main shoot and missed, accidentaly topped it. The pics dont do her justice though.
This is my first auto plant and is all organic. The soil is subcools super soil recipe.
Let me know what you think.

My little haze auto, living in vegas too. Kind of a wierd plant, I have a lot of 3 bladed leaves and I'm having some nute deffiencies that I'm not getting with my other plants, but it was a free seed, so I'm checking it out. I'm assuming by the name and look that these are supposed to be a sativa dominant auto?

Yep, its supposed to be but the ruderalis is about at least %75 and the sativa less. Mine has a lot of 3 blader leaves to. The super soil i use is packed with organic nutes. I had mine in a 1gal pot for a little to long and it almost started to get a nute def so I transplanted it into a 3gal pot with a lot more super soil and it loves it.
Is there a bunc of crystals on yours to?
Did you do anything to your plant like topping or fimming, ect...
These dont have much of a smell to them do they? mine dont.

Mine's only in a 1 gallon pot, maybe that has something to do with the def. I lst'ed the main stem because I was afraid it would get too tall. I have a very small cabinet that I'm growing in.
i'm getting pretty good crystalization on them, Nothing too crazy though, it's a little hard to see in the pics. I took them with a crappy camera.
I was wondering about people using super soil in small pots. I think subcool recomends 7 gallon ones.
Are you just adding water to your supersoil or are you adding nutes?
Not much smell on mine either.

Im just using water. The super soil is strong stuff and i think adding nutes would probally kill it. When mine was in a 1gal i had only a little bit of the SS at the bottom and i could tell when the nutes were gone becouse my leaves started to look like shit. Thats when i got the 3gal pot and filled it about half way with the SS and you can tell it loves it. I didnt even relize it at the time untill i trasplanted to the 3gal that is was root bound so i guess its a possibility that is why my leaves started to look like shit. So it was either the transplant or the SS or a combo of both that fixed her good. She has a little smell like earthy fruity carrot with a small touch of skunk but not strong at all compared to how she looks.
Even in the 3 gal pot mine isnt really tall maybe 14'' or so. If you want me to I can measure it for future reference in case you decide to grow more autos in your cabinet.
I wish I had some good haze pollen to pollinate her so next time i could have some auto with a lot more sativa than ruderalls but either way she looks killer.
I do use the SS in 7gal pots for my SLH and chemdog and both love it. Try it out sometime.

do u have space for a 5 gallon?
shes just gonna grow to fill whatever u give her, so if u can manage, its definitely worth it.

I didn't take pictures but things turned out good. The smoke mas surprisingly decent. Classic haze flavor. Not crazy potent, but stoney still.
