To flush or not to flush? That is the question

Hello all,
I'm currently using a thirty litre tub dwc using AN g/m/b + hammerhead with a 600w hps in a drobe.
I'v ony changed the res once from the start of this grow and that was when i changed from a 15-20litre res to a 30-35 litre res at the start of 12/12 and never flushed with water(no nutes).
I havnt had any real problems yet but some friends are almost insisting that i need to "flush" with water for about a day to rid the plants of salt build up.
Is this really true, should i think about trying this.
They where in veg for about a month and a half and are now at the start of week 3 of flowering.
I dont really want to change the res unless needed as i dont want to possibly stress the plants in any way.
And its a pain to do

This is my first grow in hydro/dwc so your experience is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for sharing

have you put any hydrogen peroxide in?

i would flush soon, give the res a good clean out and provide the best conditions possible for the plants while theyre flowering

how long should i flush for, how long do you flush for thanx again for your time

ITS A MUST that you flush every week depends on the size of the res but what i usally do is flush them every week or 2 with clearex it will save you the hassle with fert problems and it will make it taste way better when it is all done guarranted

...I've read up alot on this site, and some of the best growers said themselves that they have on occasion not flushed their system through a full harvest before, it's the growers choice.

i guess its your choice if you want your bud to taste like ferts or just burn to fast, crackle when it is lit, or becomes brittle and super dry. And yea i have done that and my bud came out tasting like ferts and burned the fuk out my throat Newbs first mistake.

Well i definatly intend to flush\gradully lower ec but weather to invest in final phase\canna flush or clearex is still debatable.
I'm thinking of tailing off the nutes in the last couple of days till low ec then fresh change of water and run that for a few
days whilst keeping an eye the thrichromes. as i understand that this is the optimum way to tell if the plants is ready for the chopping block

p.s i will give a fresh change of nutes tonight as its the end of week three of 12/12

p.p.s The girls in question are two 32inch super lemon haze from G.H.S.

im on my first dwc or any hydroponics for that matter(that is working right) and have not flushed either, i have a growth rate of about 1-1.5" a day. i thought that as long as you flushed out the nutes at least a week from harvest that the nute taste would go away. im afraid to flush mine due to not having a ppm or ph meter(have ph drops test). i had to build up my nutes slowly until the plants responded well, that took almost two weeks. there about 5 weeks old and 1.5' tall still in veg.

Mine tastes great, burns perfectly, doesn't crackle, isn't brittle or superdry, i don't flush :)

Flush is a must IMHO
Salt and fert build up is still on the roots even with plain water and a few days flush
Just like in soil, the best way to flush is w/ a MILD nute solution
1/8 - 1/4 strength first then plain water less than 100 ppm for 7 -12 days depending on how green they are
Plants are supposed to have a natural fade in leaf colors from using their reserve.....yellow, orange, purple and not look the color of this print

Flush, flush, flush away all yer $$$$$$

Yep Veg Lab gets flushed every week.

Flower Lab. I'll flush the Flower Coolers if I see a problem develop.
In the last three grows I did not flush the Flower Coolers once. Just kept
adding close to 2 gallons a day at the end.

For some strange, mystical reason I have never had a plant problem
in the Igloos related to rooting, disease or bugs. I hang bug strips but have never seen a bug on one. My roots may get stained by the hygrozyme but that has caused no problems.

Want to see what's in my maintenance/feeding supply?

Here's a peek of what goes in my Coolers. If you don't see it in the container, I don't use it.
Fucking Period.

and no, you'll have to guess what's in the round white plastic containers,,,,,,,,,

every time you change your res i would flush for a day no nutes just corrected PH level water, but thats me. i change out my res every 3 days so every week they get feedings and 1 or 2 flushings!

fade: That's a real waste of nutes, time & energy and unnecessary. Draining and replenishing your res when they are 2 weeks old and then once a week is enuff. You only need to "FLUSH" (look up flushing) once when you change to flower and again a week or so before harvest...
