To late to plant outside?

hi. i was wonderin, i live in ohio. its july 14th. can i still plant seeds outside in pots? will they grow? will they make it or is it to late?
 
yeah you can do it but your not going to get a very productive crop..you need to give your plants time to mature before they go into flowering, which they will in like a month depending on where you live
 
I have been wondering the same thing. What if you were to grow indoors on a 24/0 cycle for 2 weeks, then 18/6 for about 5 days, then find the current natural light cycle and ween it down to that to avoid sudden flower set?

I make it so complicated only because 2 years ago I started indoors on a 24/0, once the plants were about 4 inches I put them outside (this was about late August) and they flowered in three weeks, so needless to say I harvested about a half from 6 plants. Don't want that again.
 
but i dont care what amount o bud i get. i just want them to bud. im kinda a noobie. i did harvist about a ounce last year but it was seedy.
 
i started late but i'm glad i started because what i've learned so far will help me a ton when i start on time next year

not to mention that it's fun, and even if i get a smaller yield it'll be my own homegrown chronic... just that much sweeter :mrgreen:
 
Quick answer, yes, you should be able to plant now and get some bud, it just won't be very much. BTW, what part of Ohio, I am in Ohio as well
 
u could defently try but ya its geting late in the year if u didnt have to pay for the seeds try it otherwise plan next years crop good luck
 
what about southern california,,, i lost a few of mine to moles and was thinking of starting a few afgan right now. I wonder how they will do this late? anyone?
 
seems like you can pull it off almost year round in SoCal. Give them a lot of care and keep in a sunny spot. It also couldn't hurt to make a grow tent for warmth in the winter
 
question to any1 who can answer... is it ok to put clones outside? or should i veg indoor before i put em outside? This is in so cal btw.

I wonder if i should just do them outside,, or put them under the t5 24/7 for a couple months to get them going, and then stick um outside?
 
I had them in veg for about 2 weeks before i out them outside...i tried sproutin them n puttin them RIGHT OUTSIDE and damn bugs ate the whole sprout! let em grow a little bit b4 you let nature take its course...
 
Is it too late to start clones (from my 2month old mom) as of today July 17th?

I figure a week or two for root growth...then vegetative growth for another 2 weeks and then it will start to flower naturally outside?

Will i still get a half decent yield? (Ounce+?)
 
well you could do that n just try it out...never hurts..but take a couple just incase it works better than you though but otherwise you will probally end up producing more buds on the 'clones' you were gonna take if you just leave it...just my 2 cents..
 
I'm in NY and I just sprouted 10 seeds. I have one that's been going since May 1 and 5 since May 15. But I got some other seeds a few weeks ago and wanted to try them, so I planted the 10. I just want some idea how these strains grow so I can grow more of them last year. I'm misting them three times a day with Superthrive, which is making my other plants grow like maniacs, so we'll see.

But I thought they wouldn't start to flower outdoors until early to mid-september. Will they really start in August?
