Hey guys, I know this topic has been discussed and it seems opinions are split.
I'm having trouble deciding so I would love to hear from you on weather or not I should.

i would also like to hear at what stage of a plants life you lollipop, and anything else on the subject.
And a little side survey, is it called "lollipop" or "lollitop" ?

I prefer to lollipop... It helps with air circulation. It will also concentrate more hormones into the tops of your plant(s), thereby giving you bigger kholas.

As for when... I usually lollipop about a week before I flip them to 12/12... that way they have time to recover before they go into flower.

I think that lollipopping is a option for those who may have experienced deficiencies or burns during early veg. Cutting off the bottom branches that only yield popcorn bud allows your plant to use that energy towards main cola growth. If your plant is healthy and your lower growth is getting pretty good light, I would leave it. Sometimes the bottom vegetation can yield you a lot if given enough light being that they are the oldest and maturest part of the plant.

EDIT* It looks like your lower growth is getting plenty of light. I wish I could change might vote because I dont think you should lollipop that plant.

I lollipop on day 21 of flower, then I start adding bloom boosters aka snake oils. Massive bud explosion will happen then. Mite sound like I'm joking, but im dead serious.

I always take the lower 3 branches off because I find them pretty usless and it makes it easier to work around the plants and aids air flow. I leave the upper fans on, but take some middle ones off for light penetration to the middle of the plant. I grow in a small area and I pack the plants in, so I need to trim. But, it also depends on the plant. Some like it, others don't. I just finished some Ultimate which is Sativa/Indica and it liked a little pruning. Anyway some pruning works for me. Peace

Thanks guys, I can see its still an even debate. I should have mentioned that I started LSTing my plant very early and it soon turned into hard core bondage :) and the very first branch is looking the best. She is currently only 1 foot high but 3ft x 3ft wide.

I have decided to only take a few lower leaves off just to get a bit more light and circulation but I'll leave the lower buds as they will get me by until the larger ones have cured properly when the time comes.

We don't "lollipop" per-se... but IF we do not LST, we trim out all sucker branches and all growth from the lower 1/3 of the plant - beginning in mid-veg and thru until 2 weeks of active flowering... we do remove suckers and small fluffy stuff that grows in the center of the plant or lower 1/2 all thru flower- otherwise, it takes productivity away from the main colas!! We've done with and without-- a definite difference!

I am finishing my lollipopping tonight. Going into 3rd week of flowering this week. My lights are not hitting my bottoms. I am really packed in tighter than I want to be.

I've been lollipoping 2 weeks into flowering and am happy with the results. Makes the plant much easier to manage, not to mention not having to deal with popcorn nuggs. Just do it
