without a light meter you need to watch the plant for stretching as long as it is not to hot and not stretching you'll be ok

turn the light off (seeds want warm and dark) until they pop out of the soil then just use a few cfl's for the first 2 weeks or they will stretch out and fall over trust me.

honestly if you start them under a hps you may end up haveing over stretched plants. and if you try moving the light closer you may end up burning them athough you said it is only 150watt soo............i would keep it atleast a foot a way the entire grow and yes you can grow using just one light the entire time. i started some of mine under a 1000watt hps butt had to keep them 18ins away so they wouldn't burn but they became way over stretched but they worked themselves out of it over time.

Yes its possible to veg and flower under an HPS. That will not be too much light for them, in fact when you start flowering, you'll want more to get optimal results. Be careful though, you don't want the light TOO close. Put your hand under the light the same height as the top of your little plants for a minute or so to see if it starts making your hand hot too quickly, if it does you'll burn your plants as well. HPS lights create alot of heat so keep an eye on your temps in your grow area. Ideally you'll want to have a little more blue spectrum light for vegging next time, like a metal halide, or some cool CFL's.

its possible to veg. and flower under the same light right??? i wanna use the same light from day 1 to finish. this possible??
you can if your going to do 12/12 the entire grow if not you gotta get two color spectrum bulbs daylight and warm

i would ditch the HPS light for now it might be too much for them and might burn um

just go to the store get some CFL bulbs daylight for veg you don't need alot once they sprout and grow there first or second set of leaves it should be safe to use the HPS from a distance

they won't get too much light but they will get too much heat and might burn if its not close enough they will stretch
