TO TOP, OR NOT TO TOP...that is the question

i got 8 plants right now that are around 6 ft tall....there gonna be well over 10ft by the end of the season. would it be easier to top them and make them bushy? or just leave them grow tall? i have read that topping doesnt effect your yeild. is that true?

where the hell did you read that "topping a plant doesn't effect your yield" at??!?!

that person clearly has no idea as to what they're talking about.

When topping a plant.. it doubles the amount of Main top kohlas.. that the plant will grow.

If you were top a plant once.. it will then regrow, only it will have two main kohlas in the end.

Yeah, whoever told you that.. is clueless about growing Cannabis. LMAO.. thanks for the laugh. I needed it this morning..

if you have any other questions buddy.. just ask.

peace.

i would suggest to top if those are the only options you are considering
if not i would suggest LST or crimping or even FIM
you have to figure out which one works best for you
probably topping would best suite your 6 ft plants
they will become more bushy as ganjaluvr says
so good luck and hope you figure out the best method

Guys topping is strain dependent.

Sativa's respond better to topping then indicas do.

Some plants are better off not topped.

You have to get to know and understand your genetics.

I have topped every plant I have ever grown and I have grown probably 35 different strains and never had a problem with it so I am figuring that topping is not nearly as strain dependant as people make it out to be. I am also not sure how any reasonable thinking person can say topping doesn't affect your yeild. If you add colas of course your yeild is going to go up. I topped a plant 4 times once to see if I could and had 16 tops. That didn't affect my yeild?

bigv, have to say i agree.....
topping is not really strain dependent
the reason sativas might do better is just because they take longer in the flowering and grow rapidly
indica probably dont respond well if you do it in the middle of flowering because they are nearing their peaks
sativas you could probably top throughout veg and flower for good results
whereas the indicas would only be good throughout veg......once you get to flowering it doesnt work as well.......
