I don't see the point in removing a potential bud site?
If you tie the top down you get the same bushing effect and a extra cola.

All the main branches + top grow the same once tied over

I used to rely solely on lst and never topped, then I tried it and never went back. The point of topping, mainlining, etc, is to create both the number of bud sites and the canopy shape that you want. Both methods (no top/lst only and topping/mainlining) are 100% legit and result in great harvests. I just prefer to have more control of the canopy shape to maximize air flow, light penetration, etc, plus it's just fun.

For sure I find bottom shoots really grow when topped
use to super crop before it was supper cropping so neighbours wouldn’t see em

pretty narrow minded to think there is only one way to grow
many ways work
some work better on different strains too
