2 week old gorilla glue #4 autos probably another week out from being topped but I am wondering if I should top them. Also if you have any other tips tricks or advice let me know. Still a novice

.

Where they are autos they probably won`t have time to recover from the topping to make it worthwhile. I`d hold off on the topping for a photoperiod strain.

Water until you have runoff, my contribution to the cause.

I also like to LST autos, starting when I get a healthy 5th node, clearing out under four break apical dominance and begin tying down nodes around the pot. Now for the critique. Those are healthy plants but they're sitting in a hole and will be difficult to tie down properly. Also if that's a Mars TS 1000, the 150 true watts isn't enough to maximize yield on three plants. Good growing to you, it's a fine start.

I’m with you in this one. That light is fine for vegging but definitely gonna want more horsepower for flowering. Look into a Mars hydro TSW2000 or TSL2000 depending on the shape of your tent. Those both push 300 true watts and will beef up your nugs during flowering.. both run around $280 off Amazon. If you have a little more scratch you can get the 3000 model (game changer is what they call it) which pushes just over 400 watts

Will definitely check out the better mars hydro light it's a 2.5x2.5x5 tent. I'm glad you guys said something I thought the ts1000 would be plenty and I only have it running at 75 percent right now. Regret not going with the better light sooner now. And about the lst I was planning on drilling holes in the sides of these buckets and getting some wire with the rubber around (dont know the technical term) and kinda going from there. I've been researching it a bit on YouTube. In hindsight after I had already planted I wished I had went with dwc bubble bucket setup or using fabric pots instead going to try my hand on that next run.

Totally will be checking it out I appreciate all the tips. Happy growing and beautiful looking plant.

The light you have right now is a fine vegging light. I have a 300 watt fixture currently set to 50% so pushing around 150 watts now.. you could probably put yours at 100% right now if it’s only 150 true watts. That wire you are talking about is the best to use, non abrasive and won’t damage your plants, super easy to use as well. Found some for about 4 bucks at my local hydro shop. Plastic pots imo are easier for LST as they don’t give when you tie down branches, however fabric pots work fine for this and supply oxygen to your roots for more vigorous growth. Your grow looks great though man! Just think, you could use your current light for veg and if you buy another stronger one, use it for flowering and you can increase the longevity of both fixtures and have them for years to come!

Also I do understand what you mean by them being in a hole now totally a rookie mistake not adding enough soil.

If you dont mind me asking how far is your light hanging ?

I topped a couple mephisto autos and so far the ones I didn't top look more vigorous with just as many bud sights if not more.

People keep saying this, but I've never had an auto stunt from topping.

This chimp glue auto is at week 6 starting tomorrow, was topped twice and fimmed once, as well as supercropped and defoliated heavily. You don't need to baby autos as much as you think. It's interesting how people don't wanna stress autos with topping, but then go ahead and remove everything under the fourth node.

I rarely top plants.
Just a good LST, I find it more effective, very much the same effect as topping it’s just a matter of strain, some are bendy others aren’t.
