Do tomato growers hack the leaves off their plants in the hope that they will get more tomatoes??

Trouble with MJ sites is they are populated by dumb kids who have never grown anything else and have no general gardening knowledge. The leaves are the food source of your plant.
Strongly put, but yes I had to learn the hard way. It is as you say, the leaves are the engines of the plant, more leaves = bigger buds.

You have to laff, after an untold years of natural selection developing the strongest blend of growth and yeild for the survival of the genetics, the cannabis plant still doesnt naturally drop healthy foliage for improved flowering.... think that tells its own story.

i would only ever trim a plant for space, ventilation or to stop infection and that would be a last resort, i would always look at training the plant or modifying the grow space first.

the fan leaves are more than just natural solar panels, they perform important storage and respiratry functions which any plant needs to be in perfect health.

i think you can see how stress affects a plant if you top, great for getting 2 colas but the plant takes time to recover and in my experiance the total weight of the 2 new colas is usually the same or less that that of a plant left with one cola.

i think everyone likes to play with ideas but in the end the best and most consistant way is as nature intended imo.
